| Poker Etiquette Live, Casino, Private Howdy, I have been invited to a private game with a guy who I have known a long time (hes my wifes cousin) but not well. These guys are long time players, and some of em are, from what he says, pretty experienced. The dealer rotates, and I am not sure what the proper etiquette is on deck cutting/burning a card/letting player to left cut??? We are in Europe if that makes any difference. He could tell me but I like to be info-equipped on my own. Ive played in some Irish Pub games here, but the players are drinkers and dont care about etiquette, its more "whos getting the next round?" lol I will also be going to casinos in France and Austria. Ive never been to a Casino b4, do you tip the dealer? How much? is tipping based on winning? Are European Casinos different from US ones? Any thing I should know - dos and donts - that anyone can think of? Thanx! |

Are you saying you don't know proper burn technique or for some reason you think these guys will do it different? I've only been to US casinos but I have been to a lot of them. The US is the most tip happy country in the world and a tip is only expected for good service here. If you like the dealer and you win a big pot, it would be nice to give a small tip. Don't think you have to tip every pot you win though especially if it's just a small one. |

If you are able to deal the cards quickly and accurately, you should be fine. I'd guess that looking like a bit dorky will make you look like an ATM. A welcome addition to any game, if you are pleasant and don't screw up much. A shark is not so welcome. Just go with the flow and never ever crow when you win. Have fun! |
