Also, this is my first big tournament. Has anyone else played in this specific tournament or can just give me some suggestions on tournaments with this high of a buyin?

Yep, There are a lot of others coming through qualifiers or just otherwise donking out money. Use these bad players to your advantage and use the slower blinds to your advantage.

The first time you play a bit bigger than you are used to, you might be a bit nervous - just play your best and then let it go. You probably won't win your first one, but it will get you a few inches closer to that big win.

Got knocked out in 816th place with AK. Was short stack, after I lost with Pocket 7s against 8s on a weird flop.
Was fun though, 2 good players at my table, and a few idiots with stacks.

Not much diffrence from 5$ to a 100$ buy-in,just donks with bigger bank acounts in the 100$.
