Playing QQ vs loose opponent in tournaments

Here`s a story: You are in the middle to late stages of a 5$ to 15$ buy`in tournament with a stack of 35-40 BB, you opponent has a similar stack. You hold QQ in late position, a loose player UTG makes a standard raise and it`s folded to you, you have a lot of information on your opponent, you`ve seen him raise and call 3-bet all in PF with AT,AJ,KQ,KJ,KT regardless of position.
You are almost sure you are that your QQ has about 70% wining chance against his hand, you are sure he will flat call any 3-bet, and you are sure that he will call an all in 3-bet.
Your options are:
->3-bet him a standard amount, and shove a non A or K flop, check-folding otherwise, therefore, playing safe.
->shove pre-flop and hope he doesn`t suck out eliminating you near the bubble.
What would you ?

against a loose player i think that you have to shove here to try to get the blinds to help you advance farther but if ya get called then you just got to take ur chances and hope for the best is really all you can do. Against a tight conservative player it would be a different story but with a loose one I think you just got to take your shots when you get them.

You tournament life is on the line I would still 3 bet if he had less chips then I shove

I would shove and take my chances. Odds are your going to wind up with all his chips and if not then you acted on good information. I'm guessing that this is a result of something that happened to you, mind sharing the results if so?

i put in the standard raise and then push on him...u will probably still get a call but u can feel good about the way u played if he hits on turn or river where as if u push and he spikes an ace on the flop then u feel like u could have given urself a better chance

Shoving is a bit silly really with 40BB stack, 3-bet and wait for a good flop, if he's as loose as you say then he'll screw up post-flop. Oh and i'd probs make my 3-bet a lil bigger than normal, it gets more money in the pot making him more committed, while you are a likely favourite. Just don't shove, you have a 30% chance of going home.

with the amount of chips i have no way i will ever push here... i would re raise.. see a call.. if he pushes i would probably call.. but i don't wanna go to a flip if i am sure he has AJ or something.. i would rather see a flop and re-evaluate my odds

The question here is "What is YOUR goal in this tournament?"

If your goal is to finish high or even win the tournament, you have to push hands like this with the expectation that you may get unlucky and not even cash.

If your goal is to cash and you are far enough in the tournament with a big enough stack that might reasonably allow you to fold your way into the money, then maybe you don't play hands like this. You only play hands that are strong after the flop if they come along. The odds are that, if you succeed in this strategy, you won't have enough chips to make a big run to the finish.

If your goal is to cash and you don't think you can fold your way into the money, this becomes a tougher decision.

Thinking that you will play tight so that you can cash, and then have an incredible run of cards and end with a big finish is not a goal. It's more of a fairytale.

I have had extensive personal experience with this particular fairytale.

I would do the 3-bet raise.
QQs are dangerous cards in hands against anybody.
Since you are not SS, it's pointless to risk the tournament.

I would 3bet him, see the flop and if he bets into you without an A or K on flop, then I would push. Since you have the position I would see the flop, if you were out of position, I would push all in preflop.

Even loose players sometimes get decent hands so I would not risk an all in pre flop. I would raise 3.5BB's and then decide on next move after flop is on the table. If he is loose he could have Arag or Krag so he has a 23% chance of hitting with one of them. Your thinking that you are 70% favorite is right but no need to take the chance. You can still increase your stack a fair bit by playinghim rather than risking all in. You also limit your loses by playing tactically.

30-40 bb isn't anything to fret about losing if your not even itm.. Going itm with a 80 bb gives you a shot at the FT, a.k.a the money.

If I know he's calling my shove with those hands above then I will snap shove every time.

Yes but you also lose value if he folds when he misses, and if he hits a weird straight/2-pair.

Getting it in pre-flop is better, especially if he's "always calling"
