Playing OESD on the flop

So in an effort to improve my game, I am attempting to concentrate on individual situations (albeit very broad situations) and make sure my general philosophy on the play is correct. I am going to give you all what would be my general advice on how to play an OESD on the flop, and would appreciate some feedback on how own understanding.


I play these aggressively in order to maximize the value when you do hit your straight. By betting your draw, you are also able to take down the pot before the turn and not have to chase a draw (fold equity is probably biggest reason to play agg.) If opp. calls, and you do hit your draw, your opp. will usually have something good enough to pay you off big.


My Question: One of the positives of playing draws aggressively, is that opponents will notice your aggressive habits, which will able you to make more on your monster hands. However, if you feel you are playing against people who won't even notice this (or very passive people/calling stations), is it better to try and see the turn cheaply?


Help is appreciated as always, sorry for the ramble.

Also, what if an opponent 3-bets? I would assume you are forced to call in that situation, and fold if you don't hit on the turn.


I also forgot to mention that in pots with more than 3 players in postflop, I am much less eager to bet my draws. Is this correct?
