Playing Live Tournaments Could Be Expensive

Hey Everyone,

So we all dream of playing in the $10K Main Event at the WSOP... but we all don't have $10k to just through around...

Think of the players that play 20 events or more at the WSOP... that could rack up to be around $100k just in tournament entries...

There are satellites to events... a lot of the Online Poker Rooms have them... and the casinos have them as well... I think it might be easier to win the live casino satellites...

Here are the Tournaments I would like to Play in and how much it's going to Cost Me:

$5K PLO WSOP
$5K NLHE WSOP
$10 No Limit Hold'em Heads-Up Championship WSOP
$2,500 RAZZ WSOP
$1,500 STUD WSOP
$10K Main EVENT WSOP

$54K Total Tournament Fees

Thats a pretty hefty list. I'm sure I'd love to play all of those as well. I just dont think I could unless I was able to satellite in to almost all of them because its just too much money. How long have you been playing for?

Yeah that certainly is quite awhile. What's the biggest buyin you have ever spent on a tournament, and your biggest cash?

Well, I live in Mexico... POKER games aren't allowed down here... the casinos down here online have machines... no table games... so big tournament games are hard to find down here...

I have played in private CASH games... the biggest was $1/$2 and I sat down with $200 dollars and I won $127...

Who wouldnt love a WSOP chance?

So you're going to go from $1/$2 cash games to $5K entry fee tournaments? That seems like kind of a stretch if that's the biggest cash game you've ever played.

Don't forget about the 10k-20k you will need for travel expenses, especially Monte Carlo and the Bahamas.

If you don't already have the money now you probably shouldn't be playing these events.

Really. The live tournaments can be very expensive. Need to be a grinder.

You might want to check out some of the smaller tourys in vegas, I'll play some with $65-$150 entry fees and pays out the top 10.
