Playing famous people on-line!

Hi Cardschatters,
On Monday evening, I was playing a $10 sit and go when one of my opponents asked me if I ever went to watch Stoke City play( he had obviously seen that I come from there). I told him I was railroaded to every home game by my 2 sons who were both big fans but that I am a Rams fan. He then told me that he was Paul Gallagher, the Scottish International who is currently on loan to Stoke from Blackburn Rovers.
I didn't believe him but during the following chat he made comments about recent games that I had seen and I became convinced. His alias and whereabouts also fitted.
He is reportedly on circa £15000 a week so I asked him what he was doing on a $10 sit and go and he said he hadnt been playing long and was just learning. He proceeded to prove this by making a series of stupid calls!!
I then made some comments about him being a show-pony and told him to start defending more---lol. This seemed to do the trick and he soon lost his stack.
This made me wonder if any other cardschatters had come across any famous people, celebs or sports personalities when playing on-line???

Since Hold 'em is all the rage in Hollywood, I'm guessing that a good many celebrities play on-line as well as in the casinos. But c'mon, unless they say "Hi, I'm Eddie Munster" how are you supposed to know?

What I want to know is if there is a data base where we can find celebrities poker usernames? I searched yahoo and google so far I came accross one but it's empty with no information.

I think we should start one up on CC.

i hear in vegas there are idiot celebs that just throw money away to the sharks at high limit tables consistantly. Air heads like paris Hilton and the likes play black jack, and some play poker religiously when they're there. It'd be nice to take about 200k from a moron like paris hilton.

who knows

I agree unless there is a list somewhere or they say who they are you
will never know...I am sure some play online, in fact if you watch the
celebrity poker games, several players have mentioned that they
practice online.

But they never say where?????????

Jdags Jon Dagastino, lost to Ivey in first live TV event

already. Lederers commentary was the best I have ever
seen (it isn't close) and Iveys ice cold stare seems
unreadable. Known to sleep only on Tuesdays, JDAGS plays
online a ton when hes not traveling the globe playing in
huge live events.
Brokski = Gus Hansen strugglin lately, rumors are that
the "Big Game" at the Bellagio busted him up good. No
crime there, just a young player learning his chops and
unafraid to gamble with the best. Plays 100/200 on Stars
quite often. Hope he has a great year!

LayneFlack/Layne Flack His drunk chat can be a riot.
Very funny, nice guy.

Brsavage-Chris Savage
Poker HO-Mark Kroon
NSXT1-Todd Arnold Best internet trainer on the net, IMO.
I have been a student of Todds for several months and
have improved my back-up game (no limit). Click his
banner below for a free sample of a nsxt video. He plays
real tourneys (and has guest trainers) and you watch him
play as he descibes the action. Think you "pay
attention" to players and plays? This guy takes it to
another level. I feel guilty when I glance at the TV
now. Watch guest trainer "sheetsworld" tear up a 10 man
sit n go for a 25K win as he describes how he likes to
dismantle tables then does exactly that. I put sheets on
an hourly earn of about 20K in this event. Hey Todd, can
we have your lil doggies voice box removed?
KrazyKanuck-James Worth Ultimatebet ambassador, Heads up stud and
all around good guy. Has several nice cashes on the WPT.

Quiet Lion - Richard Brodie Huge improvements lately in
this dedicated player. My wife "raisinhavok" can beat
your wife "shortstack". Lets set up a steel cage death
match (heads up)!
ebolivia - Moncada, Edward
bottsky - Kevin Bott
Green Plastic - Taylor Caby, Rising star who pounds out
some nice wins in the Ultimatebet "Big Game"
mattpackage - Matt Dean
ZeeJustin - Justin Bonomo, too young to play in the WSOP
at this writing, he dominates the Party/200 sits n gos
and would love to play you heads up in the $5000 game
also. Player to watch and good blogger also. He likes to
8 table no limit sit n gos. Thats just wrong.

Do you work for the Poker Enquirer or something?

That's a heck of a list you have there.

No one famous on line yet, but I did play some poker with Pantera after a gig in Cleveland on their tour bus. It was after their record release party poker for Vulgar Display. By the time we climbed out of the bus it was 8 in the morning.

Half the celebrities havent got a clue how to play the game.

It sends a shiver down my spine whenever someone like John Thompson or Phil Tufnell brings out some DVD telling us how to play the game

Steve Davis and Barry Hearn can play a bit, and Michael Greco too. Other than that British celebrities cant play the game. Oh and Helen Chamberlain is pretty good, she won £400,000 for 2nd place in the Pokermillion event last year

Hey jtw, what's having an internet trainer like? How much did it cost, and what are the benefits?

Never knowingly played with celebs, but on-line isn't my game. I'd love to get in on a back room vegas all-nighter with some celebs or something. My bankroll now doesn't allow that. Soon. very soon

Mike and Paul Sexton have a bet about who can get the most play money and i found Paul sexton and played a few hands with him, its a lot easier to find pros on Full Tilt because they have unique avatars and their screen names are just their names.

Well,I don't care what u say. Playing poker online is diff than playing poker with live people.
U can't see the tells, the trash talk can be brutal, and so many of the young ones are sooooooooo aggressive, because they read or hear that that is good.
Well, sometimes it is I agree, but not always. Most of those guys get taken out because the other see that they are full of it.....lol....
As far as that list....OMG........where did u get it?
And no I haven't that I know of played with anyone famouse.....

jesus

FullTilt used to have a "Jesus " razz freeroll late every night for awhile. I played on same table as his icon a couple times. He [it] never responded to any comments and the railbird chat was nonstop. He[it] played well but was far from unbeatable. Let's face it tho noone can win in razz without a little help on 6th and 7th.

KrazyKanuck rings a bell. Can't remember if it was tournament or ring, was definitely micro to very low stakes buy in($5 is my max tourney buy in right now, and as a very special treat of course). Why would someone famous be in micro to very low stakes?

I played with JJ Liu today, if you consider her famous. She was dressed in all black on FT. I asked her if she was planning on attending a funeral later on today, and she said she went to one a few days ago.

I quickly apologized......

krazykanuck will play just about any level depending on whether he got busted up at the higher levels you will find him playing sng's for cheap. good guy though
