Damn, why didn't I think of that. Now that I think about it, why the hell did I go to medical school, I should have just started hacking people up on the surgery table. (A bit exaggerated analogy, but you get the point) |

It's a very good book. Well worth reading. Have you read it yet? Personally I recommend that book over all others for a 'first book' for playing NLHE. Not because it's a beginner's book... but because it is very well-written and is a good read. I also feel it'd give a player a good foundation in which to work from.

I haven't used the audio version, but I have the hard copy. It's a very, very good resource for those just starting out in poker and it covers the basic ideas behind the game comprehensively. If you're not a beginning player though there's probably better books and resources out there. You're not going to learn any advanced plays from it or anything, it really just covers a basic TAG strategy.

It is a very good book, and the audio version is good as well, but the hard copy is better IMHO, as you can always use it for reference. You can always go to the library and check the book out, and if you like it, purchase it.

It depends on what kind of learner you are. Do you learn better from hearing what people tell you? Or are you visual? Hearing may reinforce what you see. I bought both. In fact, I have all three of the books and the MP3 version of the little green book. I read them all and I listen to the MP3 when I walk to reinforce the ideas. I highly recommend his books because it is such an easy read and his ideas are really so easy to understand. He has simple tricks to getting a quick grasp of the math behind it, too. And consider that if you can rip the CD to your laptop, you should be able to put it on your MP3 player easily.
