Pair of Twos in the Hole
Recently I have been getting a lot of pocket 2's. They are dangerous to play. If you don't flop a third be very careful. Even if no one pairs the board a high card will beat you, if two pairs show on the board. I hate it when that happens.
I forget that a lot. |

here's a tip for you, littlesip: only play deuces when two or more players have limped in front of you and you're in a later position (limp aswell)
basically they're next to worthless unless you hit another deuce on the flop. you either hit a set and try to get the most out of your opponents when you hit, or you fold em when you miss (or check) |

All the rules you apply to pocket 2's, apply the same rules for any PP upto 5's, possibly higher. And remember, you hand doesnt have to improve in order for you to take down a pot
22 could be AA or KK as far as your opponent is concerned, play em aggressively and a lot of the time they allow you to take down the pot Odds of hitting a set are 8/1 roughly, so if you intend on laying down to a bet on the flop, make sure the odds mount up - and not just the pot odds |

pocket 2,3,4,5 are good when a few people have called a raise b/c you know that they have overs or another pp and you are more likely to hit the little ones for a set. obviously you should know how to read your opponents and know when to let em' go!!!!

HMMMMMMMMM............the might 22....this is a interesting hand to play. although it has the same chance of improving as any other pocket pair, chances of it winning s showdown are very slim. i have seen people CALL all-ins with 22 thinking they are just as good as JJ, QQ and KK. with 2's if i can see a flop for a minimum why not. 1-10 hands you will hit that duece, and as someone said before they are the most unpredictable hand, which means big pot for you. good luck with the DUECES

2s ARE DANGEROUS!!!!!!!!! If you don't catch your set, a higher card WILL BEAT YOU if 2 pair shows on the board, as you mentioned littlesip. Be very careful, I play 2s onlyin a BB special or a cheap limp-in situation.
If the flop does not give you a set, and someone raises, FOLD! |

I have read a lot of sense in this thread. I made a shed load of change the other day playing ducks. It was dealt to me as BB, and there was no raise so I checked in. I flopped a set. Great!?
Not always - and I have had to learn this the hard way. Also, agressive play work until someone also hits a higher set. I haven't worked the odds out of that happeneing, mainly because I was far too dizzy after my trip sevens were cracked by someone's trip queens. We had both flopped a set. FYI You have a 16-1 (5.9%) chance of being dealt a pocket pair. From there you are 8.3-1 (10.8%) to flopping a set. If it happens great - if not, you'll be thinking - how much money did I just waste on that? |
