Online Tells - 2 months 2 million

In the latest episode of 2 months 2 million, one of the players had lost over 300,000 to another pro. Then he discovered a tell - when the player bet pot he was always bluffing!. He ended up being over 300k ahead (600k+ swing).

He asked the other player if he was alright. The other players response, I hope you die in a grease fire (or something close to that).

This is the second time they found a tell. The first tell they discovered was when a player would stall and then bet, he had a monster.

Moral of the story #1 - Bet like you bluff or it could cost you $600,000!

Moral of the story #2 - Paying attention to other players bets can make you $600,000.

They also have a blog about the show. This thread talks about defending the 2 million goal and about them not being serious about playing poker. http://www.dangerlion.com/?p=455 It says they made two million in each of the previous summers, but this year was tougher (fewer fish) because there are better players with a big enough bankroll to play. This forced them into HA and Ohama games which aren't their bread and butter.

Thanks for posting this, I did read the dangerlion stuff posted. I have to agree with criticism #1. I also think it is foolish to brag about a tell you have on a specific player - especially if you want to keep milking him!

One of the things I love about cake poker is that they have the "pot" and "1/2 pot" betting options. You can really pick up a lot from people using these buttons.

I never use them BTW.

The way Viffer played against Krantz online seemed nothing like the way he played on HSP. He was making elaborate bluffs, and picking up a ton of dead money. It doesn't make sense how a player of his skill could lose so much money the same way and not realize it.

Well, he sure realizes it now. Seems like if the guys hadn't let on about the tell on camera they could still be using it today.

I've been watching that show from the beginning and can't wait til it's over. 3 minutes of poker and 27 minutes of chasing tail and talkin about how good they are. Get in on with it already-they only have 1/2 million in the last week and got most of it on the last show.

He's a live pro. Millionaire too.

There's a lot of speculation that Viffer and pR1nnyraid set that up for the show.

yea I've read a lot about that over at 2p2, It is a reality show so It wouldn't be hard to believe. Especially after they set up the whole thing with Erica Schoenberg being next to the pool with FT logos and a mic, when Krantz goes over and talks to her.

My husband thinks I'm a moron for watching this show. He gets genuinely angry when listening to it from the other room.

That's really lame if the "tell" was set up. Obviously most situations on this type of show are -- like Erica by the pool -- but something that's supposed to be part of the challenge that is the whole premise for the series should maintain some integrity.
