Online poker feature question Ok, does UB have some sort of patent or something on the "Fold & Show" button? If not why do neither PS or FT use this feature? I like this feature, but don't like UB. I would love for PS to add this feature. Anybody got an idea on why they don't have it?

Just a matter of bells and whistles, I imagine. One of the other sites allows you to also show just ONE hole card. UB and AP are the ones who most recently made a major change to their software and features. If you really like it, write to Stars and FT support and ask them for it. Who knows, enough requests and it could happen.

I've always wondered about that...It really is a good feature. Which site allows you to show one hole card??? Never seen that before and I've played on most sites, could really have a lot of fun with that, messing with peoples heads and all. I'm going to send alon gan e-mail suggesting the sites that don't offer the show feature add it, as I do feel that it brings something extra to the game.

I don't get why you would want to show someone what you are folding. Unless you were in the blinds and the button made a strange huge raise and you had 7 2 off or something. Other than that, I don't get why you would show what you're folding. Do you really want to give someone extra information?? Do you really want them to know that you were chasing that straight or flush draw??? Or do you really want them to know they bluffed you off the best hand??? In a friendly home game we fold and show all the time, but we are playing for fun, not really to make any money. Never show your cards unless someone paid to see them!!! |

Then it must be Carbon. I don't show as a general rule. Never playing live. The arguments I've seen for those who do seem to think it's an advantage (I don't agree). They want to let others know that they CAN bluff a really bad hand and think it helps them when they play a monster, or to show their monster so it 'scares' other players that biggies are all they play. There are also those insecure players who feel compelled to show their GIANT monster off to others if the villains fold. I've seen several other similar reasons, but I believe most any player at a table can and does vary their play. I'll stick with 'no show'. Most of my site settings are on auto-muck.

Why on Earth would any competent player want this to be an option? Note that the most common mistake from fish is that they can't fold. Being able to show and fold allows them to make "hero" folds. Many players can't fold top pair but when you can fold and show it to look good they will. And using it simply gives off free information. I also highly dislike the way UB does it because I'll be hitting fold and accidentally hit the half that says fold and show and I accidentally give up free information. I just don't see a possible reason why anyone who is decent at poker would want this feature implemented. Sure if you're playing for fun and showing a great lay-down is more important than winning money it may be a good feature, but for people trying to win, I don't understand why they would want the feature.

hmm Im sure the sites would want to have there own significant little neuances which could be coined to that site. Maybe you should right a letter to the tech support letting them know your idea and see what there response is. You never know what can come of it. CHeers!!!
