it really shouldnt matter a whole lot if you have a solid game plan. maybe you need to work on your fundamental focus more if this is your problem. it should really come down to preference not which one you play worse at. as preference, I prefer the ease of online - walking from my room to my computer and loading tables and closing them as I please rather than getting dressed up and showered to spend time near degens at an alcohol filled festival.

Most people do not realise that there is a big difference between playing online and playing live. Although the rules are the same it can be a completely different game. I do not get too many opportunities to play live but I do prefer it mainly because of the opportunity to get much better reads on the way people play the game particularly their mannerism's and body language. It is much easier to read avaerage players live than it is online.

I prefer live to online, but I do not live close enough to a casino to have the chance to play very often. When you play online there are its like watching TV sometimes. Waiting for players to decide or sitting out a hand. At least live you have some thing else to look instead of same old room and screen.A nice change of venue helps the game. Beside if you want to improve games skills you have to play live some day to get in to some of the big tournaments.

I just found a regular live game, though due to financial emergencies(comp crashed for one) I have not been able to play there much(only once in fact) It really is too bad because most of the players there don't know the importance of the kicker, position, table image or the math of the game. Not to mention that barely anyone fits into either the survivalist mold, or the chip accumulation to pound the table mold.

I prefer live. i take the game more serious. Pushing money around and touching it makes me think more about my decisions than just clicking away. i also play higher stakes live also. I really cant take a online 10-20$ sng, tourn etc serious anyway lolol. Playing micro lims are nonexistent live. i really also have to get into going to my casino cuz its a 2hr drive away. so if i know if im not in the mood to play, im not going. online poker its too convenient- ill logon and play for awhile even when I know im not at my best. Its also easier for online players especially beginners to move up limits when they know they shouldn’t. like if a beginner loses a few buy ins they get frustrated and could with a few clicks be at a higher limit. But at a casino, if u want to move up its takes a lil more. U gotta pick up ur chips, go to the cage to get more ,(I don’t like to carry a lot of cash), then go on a waiting list to get a seat at the higher table. Yeah I take my live play more serious because im investing more time, money and effort into it.

well time is going very fast while playing online so you kinda have more knowledge about a tournament (if playing in a MTT),users check/folds quickly so you have to be a patient master to play live,as for me I'd like to play live because its more realistic and also I have some personal doubts about some poker rooms, very akward situations, u can also analyze better the opponents by playing live...so its pretty much how you are better used to play most, live or online

I agree with all of the above except for the more fish part. I never played in a casino but I have played many home games from $5-$50 buy-in and they were all WAY softer than even a $1.20 SNG at FT. |

Yeah, I am a die hard fan of online casino games and I somehow manage to find time nearly 2-3 hours everyday playing online video poker games online inspite of my regular job.

IMO, live players play pretty bad because most of them just go to the casinos for some fun and hope to get lucky. Most of the online guys, however, put in the time and know what they are doing. That means, if your making intelligent plays, the online players are recognizing that unlike the live calling machines.

re: Online or live ? poker I like playing online because playing live is boring. You don't see nearly as many hands and I like playing a lot of tables at once online so Live is just to slow. Playing live is OK for me every once and awhile, but for the most part online is where I like to play.
