Nice story. Very encouraging that a member of the GOP is willing to do this. Its a long shot but its better than I expected from this congress. I hope the PPA jumps on this.

God bless the libertarians! :) Maybe this will be the silver lining to the recession.

On a side note. If you get entertainment out of reading the CC rigged thread, then check out the comments in this story. Very funny stuff there.

Guess the Alabama residents need to get this guy out:

Alabama Republican Spencer Bachus has been a key opponent, calling the legalization of Internet casinos a “gamble that simply is not worth taking” and alleging it would lead to addiction, bankruptcy, and crime.

Home ownership has led to far more bankruptcy than poker has. I guess we should outlaw that as well? What is this country coming to?

As an experiment, we should try a whole year of "leave me alone" politics. We the people can do whatever we want (so long as we're not hurting others) and the government can't stop us and in turn we can't ask the government to bail us out for any bad choices we make. So we can gamble and purchase homes and eat happy meals, and if it doesn't work out, we face the consequences ourselves. Sounds good to me. The price of the government "protecting us from ourselves" is just too high. Just my $0.02 on the matter.

I know some of the casino-operating Indian tribes out here in California where I am are pushing for it.

DEFINITION OF A LIBERTARIAN

"A republican that wants to smoke dope, get laid, and play online poker" ;)

"DEFINITION OF A LIBERTARIAN A republican that wants to smoke dope, get laid, and play online poker" ;)

LOL! That's a good one!

Technically speaking, we want to preserve everyone's rights to do those things whether or not we actually want to do them ourselves. But that's just a minor technicality. ;)

Lol.
Would be nice that way we wouldn't have to worry as much about getting rejected when depositing and maybe a few more sites would allow Americans to play but I seriously doubt it.
