Online Cash Game Sets New Records

Online poker reached new heights last night when the largest cash game in Internet history was played out on the tables at the Prima Poker Network.

Two players, "Fast_Freddie" and "bad_ip", engaged in an epic battle at the $200/$400 Heads-Up table where, by the end of the night, there was a previously unheard of amount of money on the table.

The game began with each player sitting with $40,000 (the max buy-in), but after eight hours and over 20 rebuys, the table had swelled to an astounding $800,000+.

bad_ip reportedly took a lead of more than $200,000 in the early hours of the match, but Fast_Freddie battled back, eventually taking the following pot, which set a record for the largest single pot in online poker history.

Player "bad_ip" raised from $400 to $1,200 on the button.

Fast_Freddie reraised to $4,000, and bad_ip made the call.

The flop came out 7c Ah Ac. Fast_Freddie led out with an $8,000 bet, and bad_ip raised to $16,000.

Fast_Freddie then re-raised for $32,000, and bad_ip called.

The turn was the 5s, and Fast_Freddie led out with a massive $74,000 bet.

bad_ip raised all-in for a total of $188,326, and Fast_Freddie made the call.

The river was the Kc.

Fast_Freddie showed AsJs for trip aces, and bad_ip mucked his hand.

The pot total was $465,451, the largest in online poker history.


Over 600 observers were watching the match during this pot, jamming the chat box with so many "WOWOWOWOWOWOW's", it was nearly impossible to read.

The match ended shortly after the record-setting pot, and Fast_Freddie left the table with over $750,000, a record for the biggest cash game win online. Although Fast_Freddie left with the majority of the cash, nobody is sure how much he ended up profiting after all the rebuys.

The real identities of the two players is not confirmed, but "bad_ip" is widely believed to be Norwegian online pro Johnny Lodden (pictured). Fast_Freddie, on the other hand, is still somewhat of a mystery. Many believe Fast_Freddy is World Series of Poker bracelet winner Freddy Deeb. At one point during the match an observer asked "who is Fast_Freddie?", to which he acknowledged that he was Freddy Deeb. There were conflicting reports, however, that Freddy Deeb was in Paris being interviewed by the World Poker Tour at the same time as this high-stakes match.

is this for real? How is it possible to have that much money in your poker account, I thought the max deposit on most site was like 5000 is it not? What do you think bad_ip was holding?

Yes, but if you deposited 20k, you could easily build that up at higher limits.

5000? no no...think about the people who play 50/100 daily. You don't play stakes that high without a proper bankroll (ie 30,000 or so)

Crazy article...it actually reminded me of a game i watched, coincidentally also on prima, where a player lost 20 000 on a bluff. A BLUFF.
i think both of the players had about 20K and guy #1 was the aggressor, and the other guy was unsure about his hand. Guy #1 must have smelled the weakness, and pushed. The winner then called with top pair and a mediocre ace (like AJ or AT or something)

either way that was the craziest hand i've ever seen - the other guy was on a complete bluff, but had a bad read on the guy as he obviously thought he could push him out. Nutty.

I too am wondering what bad_ip had...maybe a weaker ace? KK? no idea...

i think most of the 50/100 players have a bankroll more in the neighborhood of 300k for that game.

You are talking about 2 extreme high stakes poker players here! Bad_ip (Lodden) is a multi millionaire, probably the most famous poker player in his country. It is still unsure if fast_freddie is in fact Freddie Deeb but most believe it is. I doubt very much that the 20k per day rule would apply to these kind of players. They probably have arrangements with the poker sites and do a bank transfer for $1m or something stupid.

I would imagine Lodden either had a weaker ace or a high pair, and figured with the two Aces on board that freddie didnt in fact have an Ace

I think that with the re raise from Bad ip he was trying to tell fast freddy that he had a high pkt pair but then ofcourse fast freddy came back over the top again and bad ip should have folded.So i guess bad ip had JJ/QQ.
