omaha H/L

just lately I,ve been playing the high low games on Absolute Poker, and when i play the omaha games i come across the all in every hand, before the flop merchants, not just one on the table, but 5 or 6 of them, it drives me mad. when i told them what i thought, saying that can,t be playing the game, i was told in no uncertain terms it was me that can,t play the game, to a certain extent this may be true, as i,ve only just started playing, but i,m sure theres more to the game than pushing all the chips in, its been the same all last week. True there has been the odd game i,ve enjoyed, playing with people who want to play, but boy they seam few and far between, god bless em. anyway thanks for letting me get that off my chest, i,m off to find a table that will give me a game to enjoy, but i find myself shouting, ALL -IN, is it getting to me?. All the best and good luck.

omaha is the worst game to go all in preflop in

the hands are so even compared to other forms of poker

Grumble, thats why they go all-in. They are looking for a coin-flip to win back their holdem losses. I garuntee that if there was a way to bet money on a virtual coin where you win like 48% of the time (A slightly biased coin i guess?), TONS of players who are on losing streaks would play it.

The hands are NOT even in value. There's a group of strong hands and most other hands are worthless crap. The idea that the hands are even in value is a myth, and it's simply not true. Random crap all in versus random crap will probably return you about 48%, but if you patiently wait for strong hands in a game like the one described you'll probably clean up.

What stakes are you playing for? I had to move up to get away from the the "slot machine" games (put your money in and let it ride).

I love omaha h/l and there is a huge difference in starting hands. No way does 2 5 8 k have the same chance of winning as 9 10 j q. I just love a game where the nuts is usually the winning hand. Hate SNG in this format, takes forever to get the last 4-5 people out when you can split almost every pot.

I took my pains playing very low limit until thinking that is just the way it was until i hit the higher limit games and there is actually people who understand the game enough to play normally and with some finesse and statagy.
