Omaha Controversial Hand Question, PLEASE HELP!

So, I am playing with my dad and his buddies in our monthly game. Let me say that I am 39 and the rest are 75+ years of age. So, I have to keep my mouth shut a lot so I don't ruffle any feathers. Here is the situation that arose this past Thursday and almost caused a physical fight. Let me also say that Omaha has caused one other in the group to no longer play. Here was the scenario of the controversial hand:
Player X had QH and 9H
Player Y had two H less that queen
Community cards included AK8 of H
Can someone tell me the ruling on this hand and a link to the facts backing this up? I will have to have all my ammunition in my bag to solve this controversy at the next game. Thanks in advance...

Its a home game so the ruling is as you like it to be.
Online and in any casino the higher flush would win, but I know home games where that situation would be a split.

Higher flush wins So player who has Q hearts has the nut flush. Same rules as hold 'em

Player X plays Ah-Kh-Qh-9h-8h. Unless the board is paired or a straight flush is possible with the lower cards then that's the nut hand and Player X wins. It definitely beats any lower flushes.

Gotta be honest, I can't even see where the controversy in this would be?

If they don't know a higher flush beats a lower flush, buyin for max and take all their money.

you dont need the aggravation, and by playing with opponents that bad,
you will develop bad habits, hurting your game.

if you continue to play with these guys, you will richly deserve all the BS you receive

Guy with Qh wins with the nut flush. Why was there any debate about this.
