Actually Chuck you played that hand pretty well, the only thing is maybe the bet after the flop but still you had a decent flush draw so that bet to me was justified and after that it was checked down and you hit a straight just got outdrawn to the boat, but all in all well played hand, I play alot O8 but I am no o8 guru by any stretch of the imagination LOL but have seen alot of hands played more so than NLHE only because thats where I concentrate my game playing.

BTW actually the other 2 had crap hands but again you just got outdrawn.

But look how much it cost each player to see flop - 10 cents. If the board pairs in O/8 on a full table, then the full house is a probability - on a 6 player table less likely, but still a strong possibility. If you were playing at a higher level not all 6 opponents would have called, but what's 10 cents? You can see 50 flops (a few of which you'd hit straight on) for the cost of the CC buy in!

ya but generally you should be playing for the whole pot...if you're calling every hand in an attempt to hit a boat, you're not only playing for just half the pot, you're also rarely gonna hit your hand
every seasoned OH8 player knows that the best hands are the ones that can scoop the pot, by winning the lo side and the high
the fact that someone would call "just because its 10c" is ridiculous - thats fish mentality
this would be a good thing for me that they call with such garbage hands...but these guys were sucking out like no other

Agree with everything you say, but they were fish, they were plying for half the pot, and they were calling every hand trying to hit the boat. You cant blame the players - if someone wants to sit down with $5 and have an hours entertainment playing every hand that's up to him. If you want to play a better game, with better hand selections, play higher limits - that's just common sense.

and "sucking out?" - there's much more chance of a big o/8 hand losing to garbage than a big Hold em hand - it's a post flop game.

Well you just aren't going to find decent players at a .05/.10 OH8 table.

Looking at the hand, the guy who won missed out on money. He should have bet the turn, he'd have still gotten callers. He cost himself 30 cents.
