| Officially The Gayest Poker Video Ever... YouTube - A Winning Hand with the Village People Now's the part where real poker players rip up the video for all that's wrong with it. I just think it's funny until it gets to the punchline which is some sort of inside joke. I don't get the punchline. |

| Oh come on the gayness isn't what's wrong, or even what's funny, unless you've seen the photoshopped Daniel/Leather Daddy pic. No the funny is all the ways the video's wrong or cheesy when it comes to poker, and the way they work in song titles. Cheesy chipset? Yep. "I'll see your bet and raise", since when is that allowed? Anyway, there's gotta be more and I totally thought people would see beyond the massive gayness. |

By saying the initial part of the phrase, you make your opponent believe you're just calling, even if only for a second or two. In that tiny second of time, they will probably have a reaction to your call. So if they give a look and vibe of relief you know their hand is strong and they want action. If they look scared or nervous, you can tell they don't really want action. To the person who says it's quite common, maybe it is in home games, but consider how it can cause someone to give a tell. Players try to illicit tells from each other all the time, or at least get answers to questions, but the "I call and raise" is imo, on the underhanded side. |
