Didn't have time to play much this month. I won't set any goals as I can't create a consistent schedule for playing.

37 tournaments & SNGs for -$158.20 for the month. No ring games played.

I failed absolutely every goal i set lol.
-10k hands instead of 30k (but i realised 30k was absolutely impossible almost right away...i think it was coz 20k last month felt so easy but i forgot i had no work/school for 2 weeks there)
-goal was >$3000 profit, which i missed but that is directly related to playing 10k hands.
-Wanted to get platinum (LOL) and i failed to even maintain goldstar.
-didn't want to play any mtts/sngs, but i played a couple and lost money as expected.
And some others i failed.

Still, was a good month overall for the amount of time i played. 11.5BB/100 and $85/hr so i have no complaints.

$2436 in ring games + $214 for a 5400 sat - $100 in random stuff = $2550

Goals for next month is simply to not look at HEM or anything during a session and ideally i'd like to not look at my graph more than once a week. Don't tilt when i start to run bad and focus on school and not poker, unless i have a good block of time i can set aside and not be thinking about crap i need to be doing. Going to skip forums for a month i think as they just make me think about poker too much and just take up too much time. Basically i spend too much time on poker related things (imo) but no where near enough time actually playing. So i'll see how that works out.

Bleh. October isn't over yet, so I might still get out of the red, but I think I'm down like $1500 for the month, but didn't play much due to midterms.

-Buy HEM: Fail, got Poker Tracker trial instead
-10K+ hands: Fail
-At least 2BB/100: Pass/Fail since its only ranking 6K+ hands and not 10K+
-Finish with profits: Pass

So, not that bad of a month for for 2nl I guess. I did better than I expect, so that was a pleasant surprise.

I'm going to continue with 2nl though November and see how that goes.

re: October 2008 Results Thread poker

Well, the month is not over yet, but here's the recap anyway.

Mostly played 50NL. About 17k hands at 6max and 6k hands at FR. Another 2k hands or so at 25NL while playing around with my multitabling setup. Also took a shot of 700 hands at 100NL which went quite fine (17 BB/100) but that I had to abort after running baaaad at 50NL the next day.

Overall I'm at 3.67 BB/100 this month which is fine, although i was hoping for more while running super hot the first 10 days. $874 direct profit, plus $150 rakeback on Full Tilt Poker, plus $176 of a cleared bonus on PokerStars, minus $85 from a few SNGs and MTTs where I ran absolutely terrible. So overall i end the month a with a little more than $1k profit, which is a personal best.

I'll probably keep on mixing FR and 6max next month and if everything goes well I should be making the 50NL -> 100NL transition.

Well, I know it's a little ugly. But I'm proud of it for one very important reason:

It's my first winning month ever.

One day to go, yes. But what if I get hit by a semi during the day tomorrow? Bet you didn't think of that.

Big thanks to the boys at CC, with a special nod to feitr who has been a big help.

My poker career is only 7 months old, so obviously I have a LONG way to go. Having a bigger number at the end of the chart than the one at the beginning is an acceptable start on the road to getting better.

This chart is exclusively $25nl full ring. It's only 2600 hands, so one of my goals is to get more seat time.

Last time I'll ever post a graph of this month. I ran bad, I tilted, but it's done.

Nov is gonna be huge! I can feel it!

Don't stare too long, it'll blind you.

I'd feel bad for you Chuck if I didn't know you had single days last month where you won more than your entire losses this month. You'll be back to it in November.

Yeah, I've put it in perspective the last few days and it's kind of funny how much I've tilted when really I'm basically break-even this month. Lose 10k, then ya go tilt and kill a kitten or whatever, but I'll recover from this.

Eh, October is over. Look out November. I set no goals other than to start playing cash which I did and I am ahead for the month even though my confidence has been severly shaken. That is a good thing though, I think I needed a reality check.

re: October 2008 Results Thread poker

K, I didn't play nearly as much hold'em as I usually do (only 12K hands) cuz Stud has been eating my time. But yeah, I did this crazy experiment to see if I could make money at 25$ NL playing LAGgy, and the answer is not really. Didn't help that I ran bad either, but oh well.

So after that, I said "screw this, I'm not ending the month in the negative!" played like a 22/19 nit-tag for the rest of the month and boosted myself into the black. From here on out, I'll just be focusing on boosting my roll so that I'll move up to 50$ NL. Spent too long playing fancy at the 'tard stakes.

And I deposited on Full Tilt, played stud up to Gold Status, and cleared a whole crapload of bonus.

For the month:

+$134.75 6-max Hold'em
+$340.10 $1/$2 7-Card Stud High & High-Low
+$35 $5 Stud 8 SnG's
+$280 in Full Tilt Bonus
+$163 in Ultimate Bet Bonus
+$199.50 in combined Rakeback
-$20 from stupid Cards Chat Donkament Team Events I suck at
----------------------------
+$1132.35

Not a shabby month.

re: October 2008 Results Thread poker

-Played about 10k hands this month at $25NL 6max at 9.5ptbb/100
-5k hands $25NL FR at -.02bb/100
-10k hands at CC games/ screwing around at lower limits
-Made silverstar/ +~100 in sngs

Completed my $5 to $1000 cash game milestone following strict/nitty bankroll management. Seems like just yesterday I was grinding 2NL Full ring.

Will probably take a shot at 50nl sometime mid november. I half expect to get beat back down to 25NL, so will probably be putting up some hands in the HA forum.

The obvious solution to play fewer hands/month.
