Observing a major tournament?

A friend of mine will be playing in the WSOP ladies event in Vegas this July. I'm probably going out there, but likely not until after the event. However, I'd love to see her play.

So I was wondering, how does it work for observers at an event like that, especially during the early stages? Do people mill around the tables or stick to the walls? Is there a designated area for observers, or is it even allowable to be hanging around?

It would be more expensive for me to go out early enough to be there, which is why I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile. I'd just hate to miss her big moment if she does well!
