| Obscure 5 Card Stud Rule - Mavrick Series In the 1957 Mavirck series "According to Hoyle" the story line is base on an obscure 5 card stud rule in Hoyle's Book of Games. Does anyone know if this rule does or ever did actually exist? The rule was that in 5 card stud, straights were not allowed unless stated as a table rule at the beginning of the game. Mavirck (who had a straight) loses a 25K pot to a pair of 9's as a result of this "rule". Thanks, Sowport |
