| No more stars Can you be on a downswing on one site and not others? I am on a major downswing there, but at others I am doing good. I am thinking of removing pokerstars from my desktop. (So I won't be tempted) I won't be playing there for a while. A break is needed. |

mindgames, its in your head! but as for your question of course you can have a bad run at one site and good runs at others. Just like you can have good runs at some casinos and bad at others. Or good runs in june and bad ones in July. You see where this is going? Also there is nothing wrong with taking a break from a site, I myself plan on playing on tilt for awhile and only play CC events on stars. Mine has nothing to do with running good or bad on the site though I just want to play tourneys without 2k people in it and I like the tilt interface better for cash games. |

| Most "bad runs" are all mental, you lose a great hand and you start playing loosely because in your mind it is somewhere and then overtime it just keeps growing and looks like 1 site really sucks but then you go to another one and it's like your mind is cleared of the other site. That's how I personally see it though.... |

LMAO I do well at FT, have not cracked the Stars nut yet other than one ITM FR that gave me $.90. Ignore my facetious reply cause, well, I'm mostly ignorable. |

| I don't know, I sometimes feel like BBB. I have been running real cold at PS right now, but I can't miss at FT. So naturally I gravitate towards FT when I play a session, and really only play at PS when there is a CC event (which I donk out early anyways). Is it mental, a state of mind? I know my game is not that drastically different at either site, but I believe if you're running cold you don't take advantage of the edges you normally do when things seem to swing your way. |

| Obligatory "Stars is rigged" response .......sorry I know what you mean BBB, I get hot for a while on a site and can't seem to do any wrong only to have it come crashing down on me. When that happens just stay away for a bit and try again in a month or two. Right now AP is my achilles heel of poker. Can't seem to do or catch anything right. |

| Want to talk about running cold, this is just tonight: (on FT I might add) Mine ..... Other guy KK ..... 99 LOSS KK .... AJ LOSS AA .... QQ LOSS QQ .... 56o LOSS AJ .... AT LOSS (this one was the worst, the flop was JJ2, and when the chips went to the other guy I had to look twice as to why) all were all in PF You know things are going poorly when my wife says to me, "wow, that was unlucky" I know how you feel BBB~ |

Last night, down to heads up in the FT $5 rebuy I started out with a 4-1 chip lead when we got heads up. 1st hand my AK lost to his AQ. \ Now we're even and going back and forth for a while. Finally push with A9 after he raised on a blatant steal attempt. He calls and turns over A4, you know the rest of the story. and this as we speak: PokerStars Game #10344459431: Tournament #52412628, $8.00+$0.80 Hold'em No Limit - Match Round I, Level V (75/150) - 2007/06/09 - 02:48:11 (ET) Table '52412628 3' 6-max Seat #5 is the button Seat 1: STLPokaWiz (2750 in chips) Seat 3: wendula (995 in chips) Seat 4: kanaka918 (670 in chips) Seat 5: lya-lya-lyo (4585 in chips) STLPokaWiz: posts small blind 75 wendula: posts big blind 150 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to STLPokaWiz [Qd Qs] kanaka918: calls 150 lya-lya-lyo: folds STLPokaWiz: raises 450 to 600 wendula: calls 450 kanaka918: raises 70 to 670 and is all-in STLPokaWiz: calls 70 wendula: calls 70 *** FLOP *** [4c 4h 8s] STLPokaWiz: bets 2080 and is all-in wendula: calls 325 and is all-in *** TURN *** [4c 4h 8s] K♠ *** RIVER *** [4c 4h 8s Ks] 8♦ *** SHOW DOWN *** STLPokaWiz: shows [Qd Qs] (two pair, Queens and Eights) wendula: shows [Jd Kc] (two pair, Kings and Eights) wendula collected 650 from side pot kanaka918: shows [As 9d] (two pair, Eights and Fours) wendula collected 2010 from main pot *** SUMMARY *** Total pot 2660 Main pot 2010. That's just the way it's been for me lately. What's he doing in that pot after the action given to him and his holdings, God only knows. Let's just say he's now on the "friends" list. | I am getting beat up at pokerstars too right now - but I will keep playing. I don't take breaks from the game because I like playing. And I never lose more than I am willing to lose so I accept it. (don't have to like it though lol). And most of my losses in the past few days came from playing good hands correctly and getting beat anyway. And then there was the one against Tenbob - need I say more? I will never learn how to play him lol. I know a lot of you know my game - but he can see my cards. I think I have only bluffed him successfully one time for about $4 or $5. Damn that felt good lol. (Almost as good as busting Grum when he tried to steal my blind the other day.) Anyway - it is not pokerstars that is beating me, so I will stay there and try to work my way out of my slump. Better load up my account though while TruCard still accepts one of my visas lol. |

I know what you mean BBB often felt that way myself, the site has bad players etc, river cards are worse on this site etc. Ive usually ended up cashing out and going back to an old favourite site. Just happens in my case Stars is the old fav i go back to. But there are plenty of others so if you feel that little moneypit opening up when you visit Stars, just give a rest for a while. GL |

| Fully understand where you are coming from bubb. I have joined around 15 sites altogether and suffered a monumental plunge in BR at Poker Stars. I couldn't hit a thing and I also found that far more players actually play back at you when you raise. I am not down at any other sites; currently doing well at 4 other sites (stratospheric on PKR at the moment) and breaking even at 2. So, yes, you do have great swings on one and not the other. Also, I endorse uninstalling software. I lost $200 at stars, went back (because I like the software and choice of games) and deposited another $200, got frustrated and lost the lot AGAIN! I have now uninstalled PS and will not have it anywhere near my hard drive. I understand that if you are a US player, your choice of site is limited but unlike a lot of players here at CC, I actually believe PS and any other US friendly site to be tougher than those that do not accept US players. But that's another issue. |
