| Very nice Bombjack. Is that 1st pic the one from your blog? I haven't been dealt that hand yet, got dealt trip 8's and 7's once each and both times they improved to a full house . I'm enjoying your blog Bombjack, i've read a few poker blogs but I find them hard to get into because they've been going for a few months or longer. I like yours because its new and I can follow it easier. I hope you keep it going. |

| Yep, I did post the first picture on my blog - it's so pretty. Had it as my desktop wallpaper for a while. Rolled up anything you'll get once every 425 hands on average. Rolled up aces every 5525 hands. Seeing as I've only played 334 hands on PokerRoom, getting them twice seems pretty lucky. What's the chances? My stats is a bit rusty... anyone know how to work it out? (See nerdy notes below.) Glad to hear that you're enjoying the blog. Now I know I have at least 1 reader! NERDY NOTES If you approximate to the Poisson distribution with k=2 and lambda=(334/5525), you get P(x=2)=0.00172 i.e. 0.17% chance of getting them twice in 334 hands. Questions: 1) Is this approximation valid? 2) A better statistic would be P(x>2). How do you work this out? |

I suppose I could have waited 1 hand for the big blind, but usually I just auto-post and for one hand pretend I'm Gus Hansen and don't need cards to win. |
