Pretty much exactly what Sindri said - you can't go past Phil Gordon's Little Green / Little Blue Book.

They won't make you the greatest player in the world (it's debatable whether any book can do that) but they'll give you everything you need to get started and cut out most of the newbie mistakes.

Harrington!

"Harrington on Holdem" hands down. Great book, there are a few of them too, so if you enjoy the first, move onto the second, etc.

Thanks for all the info I went to my local barnes and noble book store and there selection sucked to say the very least... I picked up a book by Collin Moshman called sit 'n go strategy. It cost me 24.95 and I will put a review on this thread. I will look for Phil Gordon's book thanks for your input every1 this site rocks......good cards!!

I have a suggestion: Don't play at Ultimate Bet.

I'm going to recommend you read a book called "Super Users: How Ultimate Bet Ripped off their Players and Destroyed Online Poker." Oh, you'll have to wait a few years before it comes out btw.
