| New to Poker/Forums also... I just started playing poker about 2 months ago and I feel that I'm doing pretty good. Yesterday, someone turned me on to Sharkscope.com and for the first time I can start to study my results. I kind of want a hand with this and any direction you guys could afford me. Basically: What do these stats mean in general, and for me? What should I do having these stats at the moment? "Talking Point" Full Tilt Player 186 Games Played $7 Average Profit Per Game $15 Average Stake 50% ROI(?) $1,253 Total Profit I have a shark fin next to my name which means I guess that I'm a shark somehow, if someone could explain that to me also, that'd be awesome. Any information is a plus. Thank You in advance, matt |

read my edit above. so you have a 50% Return of Investment, what do you want to do with them. I guess you could frame them if you really want to but not sure why? |

| ahhhh.......... Found the FAQ, I appreciate the help there. The FAQ answers all of it except for what should I do? Should I go up a level of buyin with those stats? I would prefer to get something besides a smartass answer and would prefer that to be from a decent player respectively. AKA, not the dude with the baby as an avatar..... matt |

why would you base your decision to move up on these numbers? that seems kinda ummm what the word STUPID, yea that fits. Why not base it on your bankroll and how you feel you are doing in your current game? So say you have like a $500 bankroll and you are beating the $10 STT. can you afford to move up? lets take a look. Most players say you should not buy into a MTT with more then 5% and others say no more then 1% so with $500 you can not play $20 STT so you can not move up regardless of your ROI. I think sharkscope numbers are pretty silly because they give people false hope they are crushing games. I have seen some really good players with really bad sharkscopes and visa versa. Btw its good to know I have my 3rd hater here in over 2 years or so, welcome to the elite. And yes im a horrible player so never listen to what I say, hell just ignore this post and look at your numbers and play some game you cant be bankrolled for, see you in couple days when you ask wtf happened. |

| You are a jerk. I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would tell me to "COMMON NOW" after my FIRST POST. I cannaot understand why someone would have the audacity to call me, well... ummmm..... STUPID, that's it after I pleaded ignorance in my FIRST POST. I'm asking you Captain Obvious to just chill out. SHARK SCOPE DID NOT ANSWER ALL OF MY QUESTIONS. I AM NEW TO THE GAME. Can I get some help? My bankroll atm is 1500 roughly.......... Please anyone, tell me what you move would be. ...and for the record, is this whole board built of audacious characters, feigning know-it-alls, that can't make a profit? |

you must be related to that shark-fish guy, what are you playing now? I didnt call you supid I said the idea of going by sharkscope numbers to decide where you should be playing is stupid. I said common now because all the questions could be easily answered if you did some investigating on your own. I still am not real sure on your question in this thread? how are we supposed to know where you should be playing if we dont even know what you are playing now? |

| I actully dont see where there is such a dilema to move up? if you are beating say $10 STT and you are bankrolled for the next level then move up and if you start losing move back down, seems pretty simple to me but hey like you said im a loser so what do I know? as for my sharkscope, I hardly ever play STT so mine is only around 26% ROI which is mainly from the 180's I used to play and most of my past play has been live. I only got into online about like 8 months ago. Well thats a lie I played online like 2 years ago but not a lot seeing as A.C. is only a couple hours away. |

| Ok gentlemen. Let's keep things civil, shall we. No need to let this disintegrate into a flame war. Talking Point, it sounds like you are very new to this. If I were you, I would do some reading up. I wouldn't pay so much attention to your Sharkscope stats (as they can be misleading), but rather your bankroll management. Making sure you are properly bankrolled for the games you are playing so that you can ride out the downswings when they come is a must. And trust me, the downswings will come. I would suggest you take a look at our Articles section and our Guide. Also, taking part in our strategy and hand analysis discussions can be a great help too. Good luck to you! |

| As this is a forum, and a forum is to generate discussion I will put my two-penny worth in and respond thus: 1. For a beginner, you have done incredibly well to generate a profit of over $1200 in 2 months. 2. From those stats you seem to be playing the $10-$20 buy in SnGs and generally winning comfortably. 3. You are currently bankrolled for $1500 and so, using present guidelines regarding bankroll management, you should be sticking to the $10-$30 SnGs. 4. If you insult the first person who helps and gives advice, then people are less like to respond to your request. Conclusion: As you have only been playing for 2 months, definitely stick within the guidelines. From what I have read and from my own experience it would be a BIG mistake to imagine that you can move up to the $50 SnGs and win at the same rate. |
