new to the game

gday everyone

im kind of new to the online poker action/tournaments/sit and go etc. ive joined fulltilt poker, i was looking at some tournaments & sit and go and
was wondering what the buy in means. it shows $1 + 0.25. is the 0.25 profit for full tilt or ? this 1.25 entry fee will buy you set amount of chips in the sit and go or tournament ?

ahh excellent thanks for your help NielSz1. These sit&go's seem fun. time to loose some money now i know how it works might be wearth your time to find me haha
