I watched it tonight, though I thought it was a re-run. Nothing real special other than Lederer and Antonius all-in and splitting, each with pocket rockets. I guess the big discussion of the night was what to get to eat. They were contemplating splitting a pizza but then Dwan wanted the person to check if the sushi place was open yet...etc. lol

I quite enjoyed it, but the sidebets were annoying me. If its 27 then that is enjoyable to watch, but people betting on the coulor of the flop isn't interesting and just distracts from the poker imo.

Thats why they stopped them doing it on High Stakes Poker, it might make them some $$'s but its not TV friendly.

One question - how the hell do they still not know how to play the 72 game, everytime its on telly, someone doesnt know (Lederer this time) - who doesnt know that game by now

i saw the first two episodes of poker after dark this week and they are really good. Im glad that they put up new episodes of poker after dark and isnt this cash game suppose to go on for two whole weeks?

Yep, 2 weeks and a director's cut each Saturday where they go over key hands.

fell asleep and couldnt watch it last night but tonight ill be watching, already had my caffeine. ready for some solid poker with the best in the world.

I watched a couple of the shows this week and did think it was a rerun. I to was annoyed with the side bets.

I must say I was trying to figure out who Sahamies was.

Yeah this cash game promises to be one of the best outside of High Stakes Poker. What a lineup...

yeah i agree howard lederer is annoying to watch he is way too tight and i think i could beat him honestly he plays too orthodox and never really mixes up his game. I enjoy how phil ivey plays, tom dwan, not really patrick antonius, I do like eli eleza but he does play a little too lose, and sahamies i dont really get to see him play live but i do see him play online he's quite good as far as i know. I learn a lot about him on the new episode of poker after dark like how patrick antonius introduce sahamies to poker at a bar. Sahamies use to work at bars, gas stations, etc luckily he met patrick now he's winning millions.

Should be great. I set my DVR to record all of these .

I think I prefer the cash games over the winner take all. The game play seems more real. But, I do like to watch it no matter what they are playing. Just my thoughts.

If only my market showed it. Leave it to me to be in a market where the NBC affiliate would rather show talk show reruns than poker. It's almost enough to make a person want to move. One of the best things about using my parents' timeshare is that it's in a market where the NBC affiliate carries Poker After Dark.

Just watched the first episode. Had some moments of supreme quality!

Right off the bat, Dwan straddles, supernit Howard Lederer raises and gets repopped by Dwan and makes this face that just says, "this little f. is picking on me and I know it but I'm not gonna do anything about it."

I also liked Ivey shooting down the 7-2 because it wasn't enough. Dwan's face was priceless (per usual).

Can't wait for episode 2.

What I want to see is....does Tom Dwan leave the long cash game rich again? That guy plays so strange, yet aggressive, that I am sometimes surprised he wins at all. But it seems his strategy works cuz I always see him leave ahead. And he runs so good....If I had half his luck I'd be happy

I watch this every morning, its OK but there wasnt alot of action going on

Last night Dwan re-raised preflop then called the no name Antonius friend's all-in with pocket J's. No name cant pair his AKoff and re-buys near the end of the night. No disrespect to the high stake player, but he's obviously from Europe...? and I can't remember his name not to mention attempt to spell it. Haha. It's up in the thread. Take a look. I'm too lazy to edit this thing.

I don't think I've seen anything strange from Dwan. It's kind of hard to tell when they're playing this side game of reds and blacks. Maybe I'm missing something but I believe the goal is the first to flop all the same color and match them with their hole card wins 50k.

It also adds to Lederer's tightness imo. He sits there being raised around b/c of the side game. He explained that he lost the side game before and refuses to play it this week or ever again for that matter.

Not sure what you mean by 'seems more real'? The Winner Take All is just a SNG format, where winner takes all (<< seems pretty typical of a WTA SNG to me??)

I do enjoy cash games because it is much more exciting to watch there is more action and people aren't super quite like more tournament style games. There are side bets going on all the time. Everyone seems like they are having a good time even those that are stuck like 100k don't care.

The side game/prop bet is based on the concept of Red vs Black. Each person picks a color, and the winner is determined by the dominant color on the flop. Its always going to be at least 2/3 red or black. Patrick and Phil were each putting up 50k for a winning total of 100k per hand the night I was watching. This does make the real game they are playing seem insignificant and boring though.

Ilihari "Ziigmund" Sahamies is hardly a "no-namer" either. Go on Full Tilt during prime time and see the amount of money this guy not only has, but is willing to gamble with.

WHAT? You're doing it wrong imo.....Who would you rather see play? Zigmund Ivey, Antonius, and Durrrrrr at one table is as good as it gets.
