I heard a rumour that they were going out of business so I asked for my 800 bucks of hard earned Party Poker winnings, should I expect to see a check in the next few days ?

When I first got neteller I really researched it well. I think if I recall accurately it trades on the London stock exchange. It isn't going out of business it's just not funding poker sites for USA Canada and Turkey anymore.

The rumour I heard about why they decided to dump Canadian customers for online gambling funding had to do with the fact that USA customers were opening accounts in Canadian Banks, and they wanted to curb money laundering. We have no firm legislation in Canada that prohibits online gambling (as yet) but I am sure it's coming.

I think your money is safe in Neteller but you are not gonna be able to deposit to a gambling site from North America.

My money has been going in and out of neteller via my bank account within five business days. The withdrawals are usually same day and the deposits usually take three days but they have taken up to five days if Neteller has scheduled maintenance.

I have never heard of a Neteller delay like you mention, however, I also don't ask them to send cheques. My debits and credits to and from Neteller are totally automated. I can still use it anywhere online - except the gambling sites - and I understand why.

Just call me clueless - cuz I know Detroit is in the states but I figured it was a reference to a sports team, not a location.

Anyway, Neteller stopped doing funding (thats depositing and cashing out) at pokersites for American citizens early this year. So you will not be able to withdraw your Partypoker money to Neteller. If you click the cashier at partypoker you will be able to see your choices for withdrawing funds (Bank Wire Transfer, Electronic Transfer, Check by mail, Check by Premium Delivery, Moneybookers.com). I see that you can also withdraw by Visa providing you used this method to deposit with.
Hope this was helpful.
