My ceiling-some advice needed Hey there all my fellow cc'ers! I am just looking for some advice. I have been playing poker for about five years. I am strictly a tournament player and SNG's. I started my bankroll from winnings in a freeroll, took me several tries but finally got something going. I am constantly trying to improve my game, just studying technique, watching some videos and some books. My problem is that I just can't seem to break through the $1000 mark on my bankroll. I was close at one point but am back down around $300. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to take it to the next level. I use bankroll management and generally don't go too far outside of the rules on that, unless I have won an entry. Any tips?

Not sure if this helps or not but maybe playing some satellites to higher level tournaments might be the thing? I won entry to the Sunday Million back in November with a 2 dollar buy in. I unregistered and took the T$ but was still a nice increase in my BR.

I achieved bankroll breakthrough a couple of years back by playing the same regular tournament every day. I found that getting intimately familiar with the structure and rhythym of that one game, and getting solid reads on the regulars, gave me enough of an extra edge that I final-tabled it many times and won thousands. It practically broke my heart when the site in question rejigged their schedule and dropped "my" game.

re: My ceiling-some advice needed poker You guys are flippin smart! I went and did what you said with the FTOPS satelites and won entry into to large tourneys. I cashed out of the $500 HORSE tourney and walked away. Did the same thing with the Stud FTOPS but decided to play. The field size was 436 and I took 12th!!!! Thanks for the great advice!
