Music or silence? Recently i have downloaded ( yes not paid for, dirty vermin i know) We are Scientists deluxe album, its got a live acoustic set on it, really relaxing, and ive had that on and i have found myself with $20 an hour(over the last 2000 hands or so) since ive started listening to it, so i have linked it to the music. (hmm that sounds like one of those dumb testimonials, im not selling anythin dont worry!!) It puts me in a good mood = I play my best poker. what do you prefer? what is your "routine" for what you do at the tables to keep you in the mood, either online or live.

I prefer having a song in my head versus hearing a song in the background. I've experimented with different types of music, but I seem to play better after the cd runs out and I just have a song in my head. I wouldn't want to wear headphones playing live anyway because of the info one would miss coming from the other players.

I watch TV-which is a bad habit, as you are not concentrating on the game. To play really well, you have to keep track of your opponents tendencies. TV detracts from this and must lead to inferior poker play. I've timed out more than once watching some exciting part of a TV show and not paying attention to the game but hey, it's there and hard to resist!

Silence always is best for me when I'm trying to focus...Now if I'm working out or am just feeling amped up, I'll blast some music. However, I noticed that most people don't like having the tv on...I almost prefer it during a card dead period as it keeps me from getting bored to tears and making a mistake just to get in the action.

I have started listening to music again.. sometimes use pandora, sometimes just random mp3's I actually think it's helping me stay focused longer and does a good job of drowning out random background distractions as well as tends to help me lose track of time better.

re: Music or silence? poker if I'm playing online I like tecno. and sometime with the tv on. i find if i can focus with all the distractions i believe you can find a zone to play in. the pro's seem to function with a lot of kaos around them. if you go from home to a casino, from quite to intense, you want to keep in the same atmosphere. if you dont then keep it kosy. later

I understand Usually listen to music on youtube because i have everything at my fingertips and i can skip all the hassel. But i watch tv and play little side games and blog that helps pass the time. I usually play better when i have something else to occupy myself with.

re: Music or silence? poker i have to say listening to music while i play helps me alot, i usally have to switch it about every break, if im in a mtt tourney, but if i play hard rock i play more aggresive, as when i play old rock, like doors, i go into a zone, any way it goes i love listening to music
