Music and Poker

So... Do you listen to music while you play poker online? And if so, what do you listen to???

I tend listen to a select few bands while playing poker the most popular of my selections beings:

dredg (purposely not capitalized)

DJ Dean

i love listning to trance music when playing poker. DJ sets tent to last upto one hour or two and it's good chilled music.
But im tryin not to play music when playin in tourneis and try concertrate on the game. I tend to get carried away with music at times haha.

Almost allways listen to music while playing.
No real prefrence witch kind, just what im in mood for.
Latly its mostly been The Killers and the new Green day album...

I use my media player and run it minimized, I make a random list from my stored music

I rarely listen to music while playing, however, I do things like this forum or other work on my computer early in a game. As the game gets more critical my focus becomes greater and I give the game my undivded attention.

For me,I do not listen to music,and I try not to be doing anything else on my computer,not even another poker game if I can help it.I noticed my game suffers if i multi-task.
However,I have found that,watching a good movie I like,I do play better poker.I guess I am more patient and am watching TV,during those spells That I am not getting good cards,therefore Im not dwindling away chips.
It really is very important.

i listen to music while playing sometimes. if i do its on mtv jams or sirus through my tv cause its hooked up to my stereo system and 4 15: subs seem to do the job. i also love to listen to trance,house, etc cause its an uplifting soud when ur deep in a game. but i love the quietness also when im concentrating hard. good luck

I listen to music about half of the time, as it helps me concentrate, other than playing music, I am doing nothing else(unless I am in a CC challenge, then I will post occasionally). As far as the kind of music I listen to, it is all random... from the Heaviest of Metal, to Country, to Techno, to a little Rap, even some slower stuff... I have about 20,000 songs that shuffle through, so it's all out there.

By the way, nightmoves... working on the weedeater doesn't help your concentration, I hope the TV does

I'll usually listen to music during a MTT but not always in a Sit&go. Type
of music varies to my mood. I think it helps my play, more patience

I like to listen to Internet radio on iTunes, mostly the alternative stations. Favorites are KROQ (my favorite station when I lived in Orange County) and Big R Radio (both their 90s Alternative and current Alternative Rock versions are good). The better the beat, the better I bet!

ive never listen to music live (havnt been botherd to buy a MP3 player) plus i may think i'd miss something or make a string bet...plus i like to concerntrate while playin in tournies...

I tend to listen to alot of music while I'm playing sessions at the local casinos. Listen to anything from hip hop (dilated people, dj premiere beat junkies) to alternative (shinedown, seether, linkin park) to hardcore/metal (downset, earth crisis, suicide silence, hatebreed). Really puts it in perspective of all the different moods you get while playing poker.

It really depends what kind of mood im in .
I generally listen to music that eases my mind.
I really like jimmy buffett it helps me relax.
I also like listening to eminem while playing...

I like to listen to rap, pop, R&B and reggaeton that have very strong beats because I would say I feel better with those playing. I also listen to trance from time to time and sometimes have rock playing. In a live game I try to keep from being distracted because you can pick something up from all the banter.

I listen to some downtempo electronic music, like some trip hop,and I also listen to some pete rock, and premier and stuff like that, it helps me relax and focus.

During game I don't listen to music. But I listen "Pink Floyd" after game if I lose some tournaments successively. It calms me.

I never mentioned those bands, I believe Emporer XI did, though. I am a fan of Morbid Angel, actually.. don't know who Aborted Fetus is, though (I did mentioned Dying Fetus). And I have worked with members of the band, Origin before (some members are now in a band called Unmerciful).

You'd be a bit suprised about my musical tastes. I not a big rap fan, but there are a couple that I like. I'm a big fan of Tech N9ne (who I met once before), and a couple songs by MC Chris, as well.

But overall.. I'm still a metal and goth rock guy.

Brutal band - got at least one of their albums on the shelf here, their drummer (is it still John Longstreth?) is a freakin' animal.

John Longstreth left the band, then came back.

James King, who took over for Longstreth for a 3 year period in Origin is now playing drums for Unmerciful. Clint Applehanz, who was Origin's original and long time guitarist is also playing in Unmerciful.

I listen to music when I play all the time.. It gets the best of me though.. at times it makes it hard to really concentrate on the game.. I listen to many things, just a bunch of random stuff I've listened to through the years.

I think listen music when you play Is a good Idea, for relax and be patient waiting something to play. Try not listen metal or hard music, lol. Also Is better when you play In live games.

music always calms the savage beast

Rock n roll makes me fold the cards that are big winners sometimes but drains when you try to sneak a peak and nothing hits. I think just keeping from playing every hand keeps you out of trouble.
