Most Irritating Poker Table Comments?
My favorite comment from a pot loser: "Nice river."
The gentleman's version of, "You lucky s.o.b., how could you possibly stay in that hand with that s**t and suck me out this way?" This usually comes from the same guy who took out pocket KK with his 89 suited five hands prior. But that was different. THAT was razor-sharp cardplaying. My second favorite is the suckout thief's usual reply: "I had outs." Always love to ask them, "How many did you count?" Rarely get a response. They don't have any idea. |

I like Phil Hellmuth and my favorite quote is (talking about the WSOP)...."If there weren't luck involved, I guess I'd win every one".
I reckon that would be pretty irritating to hear if you were the person who busted him. |

To the list may I add this clever retort from an opponent in tonight's freeroll on Earth Poker:
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" This after I called his all-in and watched him catch 4 4 on the turn/river to make a set from his pocket J 4 offsuit and eliminate my 2 pairs, Q's & 10's. Classy. |

I agree, that NH is probably the most innane comment ever invented--as if the player designed his hand just so he could win. Yeah, there's "people reading" and "betting strategy reading" and "percentage configuration," but in the end, it's the cards that rule the day, 'nuf said. Hell, the percentage shit doesn't even count b/c you don't know what anyone at the table is holding. The only reason they show % on the poker tour shows on the TV is because the commentators can see what everyone is holding. I play with someone who's convinced he can calculate percentages at the table and this just makes me laugh. The only comment I can appreciate is "nice bet"--then again, it's only a "nice bet" if the other player folds and you can't forsee this either.

There is a lot of "funny" comments.
But i don't care no more about them. I say nice hand sometimes. When it was a nice one. FullHouse or higher..... Nice Bet ? What is a nice bet ? I did a nice bet yesterday at the final table ( Intertops 100 $ frerroll ) I was chip-leader with 125000 and the 3rd one had 45000. He calls 16 000 and i got A/K HEARTS. So i make him to push all in. i was thinking he fold. But he called me : with K/2 off suit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Flop came: 4-5-8 different suit. Turn: 3 River: A BOOM!!!!! He got the straight.... Do it was a nice bet now ? Or it was a stupide call and he get more then lucky ? ( After i got 4/4 and i pushed the pot a little higher as the 3rd 4 came on the Flop. Some guy call me all in and i call of course. He got a Flush draw and bought it at the River , i finish at 8 and got 2 $ ) |

"It was suited"
idiots who play 9-2, or T-3 suited and call a big preflop raise, then only 1 of their suit come on the flop with no pair and call a another huge bet, then their suit comes on the turn and call another huge bet cuz they now have a flush draw...then the flush comes on river.....THEY ****ING CHECK IT"... you figure you need to bet them out and raise HUGE and then they call it of course. ME : "J - 4? what the **** are you calling me down with that for?" THEM : "It was suited. lol" |

yup that's a classic i think, you gotta love Phil i hate the NH comment which is simply overused in my opinion, the guy plays a crappy J-7 and flop a boat and people say nice hand, come on !!! |

There's no sense in worrying about people who call all the way down with rags. They'll win sometimes, and even take me out sometimes. It does piss me off, but over the long run - they'll lose more than me by playing dumb shit like that

i have to say that what pisses me off the most is when people in an early position play cards like 8 9 off suit and win on the river....there is no reason to play that hand, especially with a raise behind you. And then they act like they new it would happen. Well i always win with low cards is what they will say...ha, bull spit. I will take pocket aces against your 8 9 any day, and i will win big and lose small.

I had a guy yesterday playing .01/.02 trash talking everyone with:
"I'm the best poker player" To which he lost a big big hand which only left him with around .25 at the table.. to which I replied: "Nice going best poker player" I love when people trip over their mouthes... ![]() |
