Think there was a story about a month ago that Pokerstars have bought out a mobile software developer so could be on it's way.

re: mobile poker? I'm not so sure this is a good idea. How are you going to play a 5 hour tournament on a tiny phone? Your eyes will be tired and your battery will be dead lol. And what happens when you get a call... your game will be interrupted.

Non that I'm aware of. I had looked for Blackberry compatible Poker Sites a while ago and there doesn't seem to be any currently available. The only work around I have fond is to use your phone as a tethered Internet Connection to your Laptop. (if you have a data plan on your cell) Of course an Air Card would do the same. Driving well playing several MTT's. (As a passenger) What else is there to do on a long trip.

The number of Americans who access the internet with mobile phones grew significantly in the past year so this opens up a new market for online card rooms/casinos. I agree that soon we will see the rise of mobile gambling even though I'm not a fan of it. Perhaps blackjack on the phone can be good on the phone but I wouldn't play poker on it.

The technology is there, so why isnt it out yet? my guess is security issues, if its on the iphone it can be hacked, this and that way... so it needs to be completely bullet proof before any attempt is made at a reliable "bug free" app. I would be extremely cautious too if I was responsible for creating that. also it would create alot of disconnected players, therefore we dont want mobile card rooms, they are bad news.

re: mobile poker? I don't think it has anything at all to do with the possibility of it being hacked because the client side program has no way of hacking into the server side program. Otherwise there would have been hundreds/thousands of hacks from the PC versions over the last 10 years. What it likely has to do with is the fact that right now there are so many different mobile phone platforms(Android, iPhone, Java, Palm, Screen sizes, etc.) that it would be hard as hell for them to cater everyone's needs. And by catering to one usergroups needs, but not another's you are pissing some people off, whereas if you just don't have it at all, no one is expecting their needs to be catered to over another's. Another thing, which has been stated before already, is the issue of cell phone's and their reception. The last thing they need is people timing out constantly because they are in a bad cell reception area.

Just what people need another way to lose base with social interactions with real people.Go to a party, bar,or somewhere to watch a game whatever the case is.Instead of talking to freinds family or whomever play on your cell phone, computer age is loseing touch with reality sometimes.
