Mixing up your play makes any play justifiable?

For example is it justified to sometimes limo with ak or to sometimes not bet the nuts when the board is ultra wet..

Don't ever limp with anything (1st problem solved).

No. (2nd problem solved).

Mixing up your play is stupid and really it's something fishy players say to justify their BAD play.

If your playing against thinking players, than you need to adjust. If your just playing the micro's or against a bunch of donks, then no need really. But I prolly wouldn't mix it up by not betting the nuts or limping with AK, but maybe just adjust your starting hands a little.

I disagree, especially in live play. I don't recommending opening a pot by limping, but say you are on the button with

and five people have already limped in a live, 9-handed, $1/$2 NLHE game. Isn't limping > folding > raising there?

Yeah what I meant was don't ever OPEN limp.

i think it's a feel thing ... sometimes you will just know that it is time to mix things up a bit ... but one thing about online poker is your table image changes very quickly, IMO ... you could be playing tight as tight can be and then get dealt 3 great hands (or you steal then get 2 nice hands) in a row and by the time you raise with the 3rd hand you are now considered a maniac by most players at the table and someone will play back at you with less than premium

but when in doubt play the high percentage play ... nothing worse than trying to get cute and ending up losing a big hand or not getting paid what you should have for the hand
