Mentor or Live Coach?

I'm planning to hit 3-4 wsop events. Some live satellites worth a 10th of the original buy-ins and a couple of small buy-in events, all of them no limit holdem.
As I haven't got much experience in live tounrament sessions, I need all the possibe help, so I am considering to hire a so called "miracle worker".
But I can't figure out who can be more helpful for me in this case.
Should I choose a mentor or a live coach?

If you want to play computer poker that is quite different than real card poker on your kitchen table you may want to consider the need for a confident Mentor or Coach. A friend of mine that is a retired officer of the U.S. Army and was a member of a Running Club for several years has taken me under his wings as my Mentor to teach me ins/outs of computer poker. I got into Full Tilt and Poker Stars and SURPRISE.... I discovered many things quickly that were so different from a poker club that had monthly games in their homes. My friend and now Mentor has been very very helpful and I can tell you that to make this switch is much harder than you might think. Need to read/heed many blogs that have good information and you trust it. Books are also available for help, also. There are many things to remember when playing for cash that to be a winner you will need help with. No better way than with a qualified Mentor. I've only been playing computer poker under a year and I've recently began to play much better and win a small game every now and then and it has become much more enjoyable due to the help from my Mentor.

What are you using as definitions for mentor and live coach? I'd consider a mentor and coach to be the same thing. Do you mean talking to someone who will analyze sessions/sweat you versus someone who will actually sit in person with you?

If that's the case you're going to be severely limited in finding a "live coach" because they're going to need to be within a distance you're okay driving, or you're going to be paying for driving time as well as coaching sessions.

For those who don't know the difference let me state that mentors and live coaches are not the same thing.
A mentor is someone who will assist you primarily in a psichological way, must know how to motivate you, induce you to think positively, run over tough situations, knows how to wind you up, makes you scream "today is my day" "I can do it" etc...but will not affect your poker strategy nor he has necessarily be good at poker.
A live coach instead should be someone who knows the poker world better than you, has good experience, has had important results, can teach you strategy, correct your mistakes and make you play better.

I'm sorry but I don't have enough information to answer your question.

(1) How much live experience do you have?
(2) How many hands have you played online?
(3) MTT's ? SNG's? Ring games? whats your experience for all of these both live and online?
(4) Are you a winning player consistantly at everything or anything in (3)?
(5) What are your weaknesses? Tilt? Motivation? Attention span? Hand analysis? How to play position? Stack to blind ratios (M theory etc) and how to play differently based on that?

If you are a consistant winner then get the mental coach. It's fairly common that when people work on their game and start trying new approaches, their results suffer for a while.
