Thats funny ... Matusow is such an enigma. When he's calm and cool he's a great player especially at PLO HL ... and his track record at the ME at the WSOP is impressive too. But stuff like this will always relegate him to goon status.

My thought exactly:if he whould get his mental/tilt/steam problems undercontrol he whould probly be the best player in the world,like u say his WSOP and ME record speaks for its selfs but he still manages to be a dick and lose all the respect he whould have if he whould just behave him self for 5min.

Wow. That is hilarious. I like how he constantly puts down internet players, both in this chat and just about anywhere else that he can be heard, but they are constantly the people he is losing to. So in a way he is putting himself down even more than the internet opponent.
If it wasn't for the fact that he has all of the substance problems, I would say he needs to go on more anxiety meds to keep himself calm, but God knows he wouldn't be able to control that. Too bad, he is a good player, just gets rattled too easily and it seems to be getting worse all the time.

Matasow is a good player. I am not a fan, but he has made a living as a pro.

It's easy to disrespect people who are better than you, and I will not do this with him even though he was acting like a jackass.

Trash talk and idiotic bravado will always be a part of this game for SOME players. DaEvils and Tony G. come to mind at this point.

I feel some sympathy for Mike though. He can play. He's proven that but he does suffer from some kind of neurological or psychological poblems. I think he has been getting better since the Greg Raymer incident at the WSOP. I just wish he gets well. He is entertaining.

Firstly who was picking up the pots, small though they may be during the chat.

Secondly, Mike is expert at the less popular games, if hes going to play heads up he will want it on his terms.

He doesn't want NLH or PLO but 2-7 low ball, horse or stud 8 or better, he was getting the guy to start offering some of these when chat ended.

Now Mike HU playing 2-7 lowball against this guy I would back every day of the week.

I think he knew exactly what he was doing.

Mikes always been one of those guys who is very talented but lets his emotions get the better of him. I believe if he were able to control his emotions better he would be so much better a poker player.........

He may have been trying to set up a situation, but he really is a child with his selfish ranting -- check out his video show at Card Player mag site -- he has the conversation of a 12 year old, and a self-obsession that is remarkable in its intensity. No real regard for the people who call in, just a lot of swearing. That's him really.
Still like the guy, think he's a softie underneath his inability to relate.
Does not 'work and play well with others,' but a good player nonetheless.
BTW I think tony g is much more deliberate and intentional with his insults, Mike is just a big kid. Like Phil H.
