Have you ever folded a hand that you just wished you would have play? Today on Ultimatebet I was in a tournament and that is exactly what happened. I had pocket 8's. Not bad, but to me not worth the all in call preflop. So, I fold. Flop, turn, river, would have been a full house with K's full of 8's. Two hands later, pocket 8's again. Large bet follows preflop again. I'm thinking about it this time, then decided not to. What happens? You got it, full house again if I stayed with my 8's. How many times do you fold the same hand just to watch it "woulda" win, before you finally give in to it and bet it? For me, three times, then I'm out. Third time was no good. Dang it.

hmmmm really depends on how many chips you had, blind size, and how many players were left. I only call middle pair all in's If I have the guy covered LATE in the tourney or the table is shorthanded. Shorthanded middle pairs are nice to see. You most likely did the correct thing if it was early in the tournament, if it was late and the blinds were up there gotta fire man! Basically play tight early, and loosen up as the blinds increase is a good rule of thumb. But hell yes we all have dumped hundreds of hands that turned out to to be monsters.

You really need to stick to your guns, and what i mean by changing gears at the top is, you need to vary your style of play when your playing with a group of players for an extended period of time, but you have to stick to your requirements when your playing tight...dont watch the board if you have to, but you have to have confidence in yourself that you made the right play...even in if you WOULDA won... LOL...But when you're loosening up play'em like they're aces!

One day I had Kx suited in late position. There was a big raise and I folded.

Well. Three Kings flop. Talk about wanting to kick myself for not playing there.

You just have to realise that, in the long run, you made the right decision.

If I called every Kx suited in that situation I would be making deposits everyday.

How many times have I folded the winning hand...like OMG unbelievable...I fold more winning hands than I keep. Its part of poker and yes it is frustrating when you see what might have been, but a tourney is many hands not one and that each hand is a different set of variables to think about...we all know hindsight is 20/20 so worry about your choices when your making them not after.
