Dont get me wrong... I think these guys who are serious multi-tabelers are incredible and Im jealous of how they can do it. I also believe if you look at the stats that most will show profit.

That being said I do think there is money to be made by us old school players who are still grinding with just one or two tables at once.

I played at a $50 - 9 person ring game the other night. 3 Players at the table were multitabeling 24 games, 3 other were playing around 10 tables. Then you had me and two other guys just one tabeling it. (Ill have to admit though the weakest guy at the table was one of my fellow one tabeler.)

I stayed there for maybe 3 hours and watched on numerous occassions the multi's with there Pre flop raises or even 3 and 4 betting it. Then checking the flop and folding to a bet after. Very straight forward poker... Bet it preflop... and if you connect bet the flop.... if you dont get away from it.

This was just a brief experience I had and probably did not represent most multi's. However I do think there are guys out there multitabeling that are not ready for the number of tabels theyre playing and their game is sufferring. So Old Schoolers, Look up how many tables your opponents are playing, watch there style and patterns and learn from it. I believe it can be profitable for us.

I am learning to play many tables at once. I think it is a matter of practice and computer equipment. What do the rest of the cardschat people think?

the difficulty of multitabling is the fact that you have few informations about the other player because you are playing vs more than 90 players or more so it's impossible to have history by two players

LOL, the site he links to is not very much different, prolly his own creation. Just look at that piece of poetry:

A database of information on 1,444 games and player behavior pokeroom for 30 hours. Player sits down to table size 6 and 9 The game of an average of 5 tables at once. He uses a minimum contribution. Probably has a simple system. Break over a month is likely to indicate problems with the losers. The last session before the break, played on a table is no longer zero stack. Player can not play serious poker.

WTF?

24 games is a lot but I dont see why you cant play 6-10 games without altering your current style.

I would say almost 100% of the people who play 24 tables also use software to make the play easier, either PokerTracker or HEM, and also a program like TableNinja (makes large multi-tabling much easier). Some of these guys play 24 and chat, so while it is important to know if you are facing a 24 tabler or so, I see a lot of these guys are big money-makers, so do not think they can be so easily taken advantage of...

Well I think is because more hands equals more pots and more money. It could be profitable at the end of the session or not. I don't have any experience multi-tabling that much, the max. for me will be 4 tables, probably when it comes to 24 tables is not much poker than robotic actions after all.

Gday, Yes, I agree, I dont know how they do it.

I have only been taking on-line poker seriously for 6 months now, and ive only just got comfortable with 4 tables at a time, (thats all I can fit on my screen without making it impossible to see the cards, time for add an additional screen I think).

Yes, I have noticed my bankroll, (since playing 4 tables at a time), is slowly creeping upwards, so, I can see the benfits of multi-tabling, for me, its as simple as, if 1 table is not hot, then im still in play at other tables while I search for the hot-seat, (so to speak), and it gives me a better chance to come out on top.

It all depends you could afford to lose on one table if you're winning on the rest. The more tables you play it's pretty much ABC and stats when it comes to a tough decision. I can't play 24 tables let alone 10 but I have played 5 and lost on one table but win on the other 4 which still put me up after my session.

One thing I like about multitableing is the fact that feelings are mostly subdued.

It's like, throw 100 rocks at that building and you know you will hit 80% of the time. The other 20% you simply don't notice because you throw them rocks so freaking fast. You don't have time to dwell on a single loss or win. You just play poker and don't think about the past, just stay in the present.

If I can get at that level with my poker I'd be very pleased, but I doubt it can be done without serious multitableing.

I usually play at least 4 tables during a session. I tend to get bored very easily and will start playing junk hands out of position if I play only 1 table. I would recommend playing only as many tables as you can comfortably handle and not worry about how many tables someone else is playing.
