I know profit is profit none the less, but it has been tourny after tourny where I get close to the final table and I hit a crippling beat to take majority of my stack. I just cant seem to make the big money lately and it gets quite frustrating to make it close to that final table.

I have a lot of respect for the poker-playing community here at Cardschat, but I can't help notice that if I were to take an informal sample of some of the posts here, I swear some folks only ever get booted from a tournament because of a bad beat. You don't ever make a bumbling error or just get outplayed? I sure do... not all the time, but it feels like stories about how people exit MTTs cause they made a couple of dumb moves are a lot rarer than the bad beat stories. Not singling you out, JeeDub84, and you just said "beats" do I'm not even sure if that's what you meant here. Just a general thought.

re: low buy in MTT poker It hasnt been all bad beats that are taking me out the tournaments. Several have been bad beats, but an equal amount have been misplayed hands or the blinds too high so I only have 2 moves(fold or all in). My thoughts though on your opinion of players always seeming to bust out on bad beats is that people are just in the heat of the moment and dont sit back and analyze there play in a realistic and honest manner. This also proves that " Players think that they are better than they really are" which is one of common mistakes mentioned in Phil Gordons "Little Green Book". P.S. I put in "beat" only because it wasnt a bad beat or anything, I was just beat at the river by someone who had a tough decision to make.
