Losing streaks
Ok, ok I know it can be boring when someone keeps droning on about their bad beats and their losing streaks but just wondering how long a losing streak people have suffered. I play sit and go tourneys and heads up games and my streak is 4 6 seaters, 7 heads up and 4 ten seaters in a row...and counting!!! Now I only play for very small money - 1 or 5 dollars, depending what's available so I'm not really in it for the money I just really like the game and love winning. I thought I was fairly good and my results up to this were reflecting this. But all of a sudden things have gone really bad. I've managed to stop going on tilt so far. Logging on to the site helps this I find. So any hard luck stories would really cheer me up!

Next time you sit down to play, say to yourself "i'm going to win this one", concentrate, don't go on tilt, remember everything you've ever learned and what made you win, and go and win it. I hadn't won for bloody ages until last night, but I was unfocused, and not really interested. I even walked away from a game when down to last 3, cos I was just sooooo bored. Take a break if need be, and read up a bit - And..... If you lose 7 H2H in a row, well that part of your game needs work. Over aggressive, under aggressive? |

I agree with Rob except what I would add is that a lot of the time those it doesnt matter too much too are often the most dangerous players to play with
I read an article a few weeks back and at two very big tourneys in Europe, the winner were both multi millionaires that play for fun, cos money or losing doesnt bother them. They are willing to put their life on the line for those 4 flush draws and when the odds are against them Also, we all have bad streaks. The fact you recognise the fact you are having a bad streak is more important that actually winning. Think where you are going wrong and where you can improve on it. When you lost half your stack, think "how the hell did that happen" ask yourself where you might be going wrong. |

Losing "streaks" are a vicious part of the game we all love. When you start losing the best thing you can do for yourself is figure out why! IS it me or are the cards really that cold on me right now. I went through an absolutely ball busting down swing a few months back and while there were no major holes to fix I studied the hand histories posted a bunch of on here and pulled through it actually becoming a MUCH better player. So LEARN "why" you are losing and fix it otherwise you have gained nothing by losing your money.

I had a week long losing streak. I made the right calls and lost. Iplayed my game and lost. I go in with the best hand and lost. I'd flop a full house and lose to quads on the river. I go all in with pocket kings against someone with a 85 off suit and the flop would hit 967. Every play I made backfired. I started to doubt myself. So I took a week off and stayed away from everything poker.
Very next time I played I won a FreeRoll tournament at Ultimatebet (2500 people) so I figured my streak was over. |

Losing streak
How about this one. I had Pocket KK's and hit a K ont he flop for 3 of a kind. The other two cards were 3 and 4 off suit. No flush possiblities. I bet 20.00 and the guy im playing against calls. 4th street comes a 2 for 3 of a kind. I bet he raises so i go all in for 50.00. He calls with pocket 2's and 3 of a kind on 4th street. I got 3 kings so I am sitting pretty. River comes another deuce and I lose the pot. That is the worst beat I have ever seen which started my losing streak that went on for 3 weeks.
