Losing it all on Red Ok, so I'm really good at tourneys... I win in almost everyone I play in, yet I absolutely hate tourneys. I love ring games, but I lost every penny I put into them. I guess there are subtleties between the two that I just fail to comprehend... for instance my aces getting taken down almost every time. Anyway, I figure next time I'll either take all my money to roullete and put it all on red cause I'd at least have a 49% chance of winning rather than zero... Can someone please tell me why I suck so bad at ring games?

Well first off, welcome to CC. In order for members to give this a decent answer we would need much more information about your game. Also I seriously doubt if you are winning in almost every tourney you play in. Usually 10% of entrants make it to the money and even the best pros can't claim to make the money, let alone win, in "almost every" tournament they enter. I'm not saying you're not a winning player in tourneys but when good smart members see someone say they win in almorst every tourney they now that's simply not possible and tend to ignore the post.

re: Losing it all on Red poker What level of tournaments are you talking about? And what level ring games? The two are different; how much is a matter of opinion, and part of it is psychological. I happen to enjoy tournaments more although my win rate per hour is higher in ring games.

This is probably not the crowd you want to impress when asking for advise. Unless, of course, you say something impressive. You're good, or you're not. If you need help, I've observed that a "hat in hand" approach works much better here. Jus sayin... -
