look at this graph ok a friend sent me this graph, it is not his but he wanted to know what I thought. here is my origional opinion, the guy is a nit. As you see he is very very tight and his aggression is horrible. He is a basic calling station, I like that he is tight in his blinds but hate how his aggression in $1 NL river is so high. he is a basic calling station, any other opinions?

It looks like its working for him. My guess for the huge River agression is that he is slowplaying big hands to the river a lot, and then betting hard. It is very strange though, I dont think Ive ever seen an AF that high on any one street. Although it is a fairly small sample size at 100NL.

yea question isnt if its working or not but how to we classify him. I think Nit and Nits usually do win very slowly, told buddie he must just be on a heater or sorts. Last edited by stormswa : 1st September 2007 at 1:23 AM. |

The only thing that really stands out is the 3% PFR (lol) and low blind steal %s. The huge AF at $100NL is surely just a sample size-related discrepancy, although in general flop AF% will be greater than turn AF% which will be greater then river AF%. Rest looks reasonable, if not optimal, assuming he plays full ring of course (if this is 6-max then either he has hilariously awesome game selection or is on a huge heater, heh).

Yeah, a little. It doesn't stand out nearly as much as 3% PFR though. Basically he looks like a pretty standard type of player who is repeatedly calling without odds and/or is c/c'ing with strong hands out of "fear of being outdrawn" or suchlike. Hence the river AF% being higher - he can't be outdrawn on 6th street, so he finds his bet/raise button. Of course this is all just educated guesswork - there's only so much one can infer from a 15k stat sample at 2am.

I thought ~<1 AF was passive, ~1-2 AF was approaching aggressive and 2+ was considered aggressive? Either way, as mentioned, it seems like this guy is a) a nit who doesn't raise enough PF, and b) either slowplays to the river way too much and/or draws a little too much, and hits a lot
