Longest you've gone without a showdown? I was playing in a tournament yesterday and I looked up 2.5 hours in and realized I was still yet to see a showdown. I had been playing extremely tight poker (TAG). Anyway, I found it to be really unusual that I had spent that much time without a showdown, so I was wondering how long (in a tournament) you've gone without having a showdown.

Don't Know. I sure I'm been in some where it was a while especially near the end. If this very rarely happens to you fine, but if not, then the first thing that comes to mind is poor value betting. If you are value betting your good hands you will see showdowns especially in the first 2.5 hours of a tourney. Stange things happen in tourneys though.

I fully agree with tpb221. In a tournament, sure, sometimes it's good to be very aggresive, pick up the pots on the flop, etc. But when you start hitting very good hands, it's always much more important to value bet, and get calls. Calls are really what make u the big bucks in the long run. I know lots of times in low limits, the donks will value bet, but when it comes to the river, if they have the best hand, they have a tendency to just shove all in, hoping to double up (since they are not satisfied with any win except the maximum) and it makes for easy folding, and less winnings for the better at hand. Then again, you can just have 2.5 hours of no callers, that's a possibility :P
