Live poker stories

ok dont know if this thread has been done before im sure it has most forums have some of these threads but Im starting another one.

My last Atlantic City trip was my favorite, not because I won alot I actually only took $250 with me and came back with $0. I didn't have alot of money that week and that is all I could come up with so I had the plan to just play a little 2/4 limit and come home. My buddie wanted to play some tourneys so he talked me into putting $100 in a tourney when we got there. I got to final 4 and we chopped for about $900 a piece.

Well with my new found fortune I decided to go sit with him in a little 1/2 NL game. I lost one buy-in pretty quick when I called this terrible player down with top pair because I didnt believe he had me beat but he had me out kicked by like 1 rank. Later on I got it back from him when I made a great call with a set on a 4 card straight showing on the board.

So I was about even and I got in this big hand with this guy, this guy had been losing constantly and I was up about $300 at the table. One guy limped in and I went ahead and raised with TT and the losing player pushed all in, well the origional limper went into the tank and I didnt realize he was still in the hand and began to push my chips into call, before you go you donk calling his all in with TT, I knew this guy had been losing alot and I didn't put him on a big hand at all. Now the table pointed out that the original limper had to act still and they let me pull my bet back which they didn't have to do since I acted I could of been concidered calling. Well original limper folded and the board was terrible with two overs out. I spiked a ten on river and took all of the dudes money, he mucked his cards and I didn't ask to see them because honestly didnt care I got his money and that is all that matters. By the way the original limper said he would of hit set on flop and asked me If I would of called a all in from him on flop. I pointed out if he would of called I wasn't calling preflop.

I contined on that table for awhile losing a little then we went to play another tourney a $50 buy-in. It was a turbo so we were all just having fun and I got dealt QQ, the funny thing is I looked at my cards real quick then capped them and told everyone I hadn't seen my hand yet and I was raising blind, I basicly grabbed a handful of chips didn't count them and said I raise this much, the dealer counted them up and declared my raise and a late person pushed all in. Like I said this is a turbo you can not lay down QQ in a turbo, so I looked at the guy and said " I'm going to call your all in blind", he flipped over some ace- rag hand and I flipped over QQ and everyone was like WOW at the table no one had seen me look at my cards, the dude was like you really called that without even seeing your cards to which I answered of course I looked at my cards silly you think im going to call off most of my stack blind?

I ended up busting way away from the money but it was pretty much a crapshoot anyway, my Buddie busted my AK with his rags I believe. While I was waiting I got into a 2/5 NL game which was by far the loosest game ever and proceded to get every single premium hand cracked, that is where I lost my money, I mean everyone. AA cracked by junk, JJ cracked by lucky river, it was horrible but it happens. It is basically only the 2nd time I have ever left down from Atlantic City but oh well just a losing sitting.

Its funny that my most fun trip is a losing one but it was a rush of a night, not one I like to repeat over and over seeing as I lost. I have had very profitable trips but this wasn't one of them. Anyone else care to share?

I have one that happened yesterday.

I decided to try my luck again at live poker at a casino in Milwaukee. As I was waiting for a seat, there was a table that had a lot of loud "discussions" after a few hands. As luck would have it, I found my seat at the very same table. ($3-5)

Sat down and saw with my $250 buy-in that I was about 7th or 8th at the 10 seat table. No problem, won a couple of pots for $30-$40 so I was pretty happy.

Our dealer was pretty tall so I could not see the short lady that was to the right of him. The only time I could see her was when she would shoot out her raises on the hand.

Things were going pretty routine until said lady fired off a $70 raise to $75 pre-flop. After most of the table folded, a gentleman two spots to her left fired off the raise w/out hesitation. It seems that these two were the main culprits of the loud "discussions" that happened before I sat down at the table.

The flop comes out 7h, 10h, Js. The gentleman checks and says "be nice this time with you bet". Lady fires off another $75 bet and gentleman calls quickly. Qs on the turn, gentleman checks again. Lady fires off $100 bet which leaves gentleman w/$150 in chips. He calls after questioning, "Are you sure?" River comes with a Jh and Lady bets $150 to put gentleman all in. As gentleman is calling, he looks at her and says "Thank you for the pot" and flips over a pair of kings. She fires back "No thank you" as she shows.........................8h 9h!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the gentleman's jaw hit the floor so fast that he just couldn't say anything at all!!! He turned, the brightest red I had anyone turn and just grabbed his jacket and walked out with out saying a word.

The three guys around me were speechless too, it was a pretty funny sight. Every one put her on AK or AQ.

I guess that the gentleman had shown a bluff to the lady and she had been firing big raises back at him for about a half an hour. And all he did was complain about it. Well, I guess she got him back good.
