| Live poker legally? Is there an organization in US that has poker events legally? But not at casinos.. something like a poker league. I'm in NC and don't feel like driving and I don't have the money for poker states at casino anyway. I've never played live but sounds like it could be fun. |

| There are tons of home games, bar leagues, charity games, etc. Obviously the charity games will have a huge rake and you'll likely find it hard to profit much, but it's for a good cause. The bar leagues are usually mostly social from what I've heard but many have free entry, quality play (compared to other live freerolls), and really good prizes if you end up winning/cashing at the end of the year. The best bet if you want a regular game is to find/make friends in your area that are serious about poker, and start up a home game. Either someone can host it or a few of you that have room can take turns hosting a game. btw State laws are different, in some it's illegal to gamble outside of licensed casinos (which in some states is live at all since they don't allow casinos) and some allow only non-raked games, although most of these restrictions aren't followed as I know of several raked and unraked games that go on in my State and their policy is all home poker is technically illegal but the police have officially stated they won't go after anyone unless it's raked. Yet raked games still happen and the police have busted the games 0 times. But anyway, best bet is find a group of friends who have some money to spend once a week, month, or however often you want to play and get together and play. Other than that online and in casinos are the way to go I think. |
