live or online

Which do you perfer: live play or online and why

Well for me its definately live play by a mile. I play a good bit. once or twice a week, be it in a tourament, with friends at home or in my local bar. And I win consistently, not blowing my own trumpet or anything but I do.
But as for online, I just can't seem to get a consistency going, I just about break even.
Maybe I don't pay enough attention, or maybe Im just crap, I don't know. I dont get the same buzz as in live play, the adrenalin rush I get from online is absolutely nothing compared to live play.

In live play you have people to share your great wins, or to condole you when you get a bad beat. They don't fire insults at you from across the table, well maybe thats a lie, no actually that is a lie. At least you can look them in the eye when they do. lol

And best of all I get to take Tenbob out of the game.

So guys and girls, which tickles your fancy and why.

Hi

The thing about adrenaline rush is quite common i think. I know it myself.
I dont play as much as you do when it comes to live games but i play alot online when i have the time.
I think one of the most important things is that you gotta have patience and often better hands wins the pot on the web than in a live game. Simply because more hands are dealt.

Without a doubt live KillerK. I also am not tootin my own horn but I just seem to dominate our reg. home game usually the same 10 or 12 people so I know how they play lots of loose mongoose I play with LOL they are not everyday players either online or home just weekend warriors. Couple guys though catchin on to tells and stuff that help to win these games. stuff like this 1 guy everytime he gets a real solid hand say AA KK AK I picked up he always touches his ear don't ask me why but I picked up on this long ago and have won alot from him when he has solid hands even when say I have J 10 and flop the nuts if he holding those cards its an almost garentee all in LOL so I say live by a longshot

most definately live =D it's jus so much more fun and like u said the adreneline rush is amazing plus i think i concentrate a lot better live online i tend to get distracted by small things and make stupid mistakes like clicking the raise button instead of the fold because i was distracted by my g/f calling me or msging me... live i have an excuse to ignore her phone calls lolz

They bitch that I'm no fun until I'm drunk and then bitch that I'm obnoxious when I'm drunk.
On a personal note I'll come to one of your live games Kat, as long as I can win enough for air fare home. Is that a little better? I would of typed in more the first time but I'm working off a major hangover. I'm just now getting back to par.

live by a country mile.....You get a bigger rush and you can get better tells/reads on people than you can on-line. Plus, you use your "Whole game" live, not just a poop shoot on line.
(Just my opinion)

Fug`s.

I like the embarassment factor of live. You make a stupid call or play and have to look the rest of the table in the face. Stops alot of yahoos from doing stupid plays.

You have to express so much more control live. You hit AA at home you can jump up and down and scream when the flop comes AAK and someone just went all in before you. Live you have to sit there stone faced until it is your turn and pray that someone else calls.

I'd probably play live more if I had the option. Playing online has some other perks that aren't necessarily obvious, though, specifically when it comes to practising or learning the mechanics of the game - there are great tools to keep track of how you've played, how much you're up or down, etc, and you get to play an almost ridiculous amounts of hands per time-unit. Plus, if you have an hour to kill, you can sit down and play instantly.

But poker games (outside of the Stockholm casino) have to be private by law, and getting enough people together seems to be a bit of a problem for me. I have a bunch of coworkers who talk about playing, but they aren't interested in ring games, and especially not limit (which is my game of preference). Most of my other friends outside of work generally speaking don't like to gamble at all.

Playing live is more exciting than online play. You get to see the reaction of your opponents when they lose a hand to you. You could also look for tells and use them to your advantage. Also, I always find guys at the table that are fun to play poker with, whether it's cracking jokes or overreact on a loss for comedic value. I also like to see how bragging player sreact when they are out.

Live games all the way. I just got home from the casino and won 110 and played for 2.5h. I find i will play tighter at the casino and there arent as many crazy hands. Plus they give you free drinks every now and then.
