Listening to music while playing?

Does anybody listen to music while playing poker?
I find myself always opening up iTunes and turning on some softer, slower type of music, I usually stick with one artist a session, but the weird thing is that I listen to music I dont listen to at any other time. An example would be John Mayor, I wouldnt ever listen to him, but admittedly, his voice is pretty easy and soothing (dont judge me ).

What do you guys listen to? suggestions?

I have a massive mixed soundtrack.. have no idea what's on there but i just download music packs from 'isohunt.com' The type of music doesnt seem to affect my mood at all really. Just keeps me entertained.

I have a poker playlist on my Zune. It's mostly up beat stuff because I play some long sessions in AC and need it to keep me alert.

i like to listen the rock music while playing poker,i think the rock can relax myself in the game,i hope it is the only way to me,nobody will do the same things like me.

I'm usually listening to the radio as I play. I've tried to open I-TUNES as I play, but my computer is too weak to handle it being open at the same time as the different poker sites.

Is listening to music recommended?
I usually listen to music but does that affect your focus?
WHat do the pros recommend? music or no music?

I have a playlist on my Zune that is about 8 hours long. It has all kinds of great music on it. Everything from Metallica and Pantera to Cypress Hill and James Taylor. It is like the soundtrack to my life. I named the playlist Poker Tunes, but I listen to it when I'm driving, playing poker, fishing, or any other time I feel like hearing all of my favorites. I think listening to music helps me to be patient... especially in live games where the action is much slower than in multi tabling online!

definitely listen to music when grinding online, gets u into a groove somehow. into the zone. for me, i find that if im going to be aggro that particular tourney , i'll pump up some hiphop/house. gonna be tight, pump up some progressive rock.

Music always sets the mood. Only problem is fast music, at least for me, makes me impatient because it gets you hyped. So I like to play music without too many words. Mostly instrumentals

Mostly blues BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Clarence Gatemouth Brown etc,

I also play The Band and Talking Heads and Vivaldi

I almost never listen to music while playing live. There's a lot to hear, but online I will have pandora running any number of mixes I've "constructed". I also will put on NPR at times.

I like listening to a few tune here too. Nothing like some live Beatles or for a new band the Script.

I was at the McCartney concert in 2009. Love listening to the live concert on DVD.

I like to listen to a few DJ AM sets when I play. Most are nice relaxed and upbeat

I like to listen to music when I'm playing. It helps me to focus and in long MTT or if I'm grinding it also keeps me going. It really helps when I go card dead and start to get bored from not playing any hands, it gives me something else to do while I wait for a good hand.

I always listen to music while I play poker too, doesn't really matter what kind of music, I find it makes it better if im at very slow tables.

just try it,some music reaaly can improve your focus in the game,it can really help you in the long match..

Without music I can`t play. Sometimes look tv but it distracts.

I usually listen to Rammstein when I'm playing in a big tournament.
