LIMIT SnG players
Any limit SnG players out there? It took me one or two games to figure out how to play these things, but I think they can be quite profitable.
If you do play these maybe we can brainstorm some strategy. |

Well I'm not going to exactly be a good study partner. I do play limit SNGs, but they are Razz Limit SNGs.
![]() Anyway, we don't have nearly as much on the site these days about limit, but you will find some things with a bit of searching. Oh and posting hands in Hand Analysis will get you plenty of input. In fact one of the site's top players (F Paulsson) used to play limit exclusively. He's moved on to NLHE these days, but I'm sure he still has a fondness in his heart for the subtleties of limit. EDIT: I forgot...also be sure to check out our Strategy Articles. We have several articles there on limit holdem..just look through the tabs. I'm sure you'll find them useful. Last edited by Jack Daniels : 30th October 2009 at 11:40 PM. |

That's exactly why limit poker can be very profitabe. So many people are into NLHE that they never developed their limit skills. I've entered two limit SnG's and won them both. It's great to see everyone jumping in every hand so when the blinds reach 200/400 a bunch of people are down to 2-3 BB's. I just sit and wait until I get premium and then raise....my call button doesn't seem to work in limit. It's either raise, re-raise, re-re-raise or fold. The good part is that so many people play such bad hands, the premiums always get paid off.
I would post hands, but there isn't too much to see: AA, KK, QQ, JJ, AK, AQ get raised and re-raised. Otherwise I don't play anything. That's about all there is to it. |
