Can you define what you mean by "timing" and "levelling"? Also, can you define "instinct"? Operationally, will these concepts help one's game? If poker success is based on "instinct", then only those players with the correct genetic make-up will be successful over those that don't have it, but not one of them would have an edge over any other of them. Study and experience would have no effect. I think that you may be using these terms as synonyms for "luck", i.e. "beating the odds."

Ahh OK. No one ever really uses levelling in that sense - it's mostly used on forums when people are trolling each other. So if someone posts a thread like "should i fold aces preflop?" then within the first few replies someone will more than likely ask "level?" I think moving through the levels progresses as you build on your game. When you play against an opponent who thinks at a certain level, you should be altering how you play too. There's no point trying an bluff which should fold out two pair if your opponent is thinking on the first level, just about his hand. As you learn to hand read better and interpret bet sizing, and generally as you play more hands, you will find yourself thinking about more things like "i think he normally has xx range", which is essentially you moving up the levels

how has timing taken over your poker game? how has timing taken over your poker game? this seems like you would be very exploitable, ie if you always snap shove over my quick river check .... timing tells are a difficult beast....how can you tell if another player got a phone call or misclicked or is playing 20 tables?
