I'd do 50 card draw. Each player gets their own deck of cards and is dealt 50 cards face down. He can then choose to trade up to 2 of his cards and draws them off the remaining cards. Remember poker is a 5-card game so you only choose the best hand you can make with 5 cards. I run so bad in that game though, my opponents seem to always have a royal flush. The other day I even had a 7 high straight flush and my opponent had a royal
.And for HORSE freerolls I don't think so but I know there's a variety game at Full Tilt every Friday and I think once a month it's HORSE. Only need 15 posts to play in those so you should be eligable if you're willing to buy in. |

My brother and I used to play a game we dubbed Burt Stanton's Poker with a few of the other guys we worked with while we were dealing bar gigs and waiting for things to start.
Rules: Everyone antes an amount and gets dealt ten cards. Two cards get put face down in the middle of the table (it's a five-player-max game) The dealer picks which card in the middle to turn over, then picks four cards from their hand to combine with that face up card to make their first hand. Standard five-card hand rankings apply. Action proceeds clockwise and the other players do the same. Once everyone's shown a hand, the second middle card gets turned up and the process gets repeated - starting with the dealer, everyone uses another four cards from their hand to make a second pair. If one player wins both hands, they take the whole pot. If there's a different winner on the first and second hands, the pot is split in half. Half of it goes to a jackpot for the next hand, and the other half is split between the two winning players. Jackpot keeps accumulating until someone wins both hands. The antes go up and down in relation to the size of the jackpot though to be honest, I can't remember the formula. I think they need to go up when the jackpot reaches the size of the preflop pot or something. Is it silly? Hell yeah. But the important thing was it was convoluted enough (and short-handed enough) that most of the patrons couldn't be bothered joining in ![]() |

ok, heres a little variation on hold em. every time someone sucks out on you, after playing stupid cards you get all their chips and they have to start over on another table. and they have to keep starting over every time they do it. of course my attitude may be a little off today as i quit smoking yesterday. bare with me peeps.

There is a version we play while we are waiting for our live tours to start,,
Each player is dealt 5 cards one at a time face down. And then u turn the top card.,, the player left of the dealer starts they can either pick up the turned up card, or take one from the pile, they can only choose one of their 5 turned down cards to trade with,, once they choose either the delt card or the picked up card, the one not taken is put on the discard, and that card becomes part of their hand. Same play going around the table for all five cards. Then once all players have their full hand of chosen cards, you turn over and the player who has the highest poker hand wins... ITs amazing, once someone has actually had quad kings playing like this,,, very fun and can be frustrating on whether to stay with what you have already or to take the picked up cards. MIND YOU you can only look at one card to choose from, not the remaining ones..,. .BUT you can look at the cards that you have declared as your own as many times as you want~~ |

pokerstars is soon to introduce a new game called badugi, it's a lowball with a twist, using suits. sounds interesting to me. i read somewhere in order to keep your HE game going strong you should try other games, for variation and to keep you from getting bored, also you might find that your better at another game. just my 2 cents.
