Wow!!!! no one has made a comment, does that mean everyone dosen't care one way or the other. Hmmmmmm I can see how this format changes how people play. If fact I am thinking of no longer playing this format. I love Holdem but not KO Holdem

I don't play in many home games, so I'm not sure how many are KO format. But I did play a bounty tournament at a casino one time, which was pretty fun. The prize pool ended up being pretty small, since a lot of the money was going to the bounties. What's most interesting is the winner would get his own bounty plus 2nd place's bounty. Kinda cool. If your play style is pretty aggressive then you'll get a little more incentive for getting all the chips in the middle a lot, that's probably about the only advantage to this kind of tournament. At least if you don't place high in the money you get a chance of making your buy-in back just alone in bounties.

Firstly I'm not sure what you mean, because in virtually all the tournaments I play in you are knocked out when you lose your chip stack Secondly you haven't given my favourite choices (cake and bastard) as options in your poll, so your poll is declared invalid - and I vote for cake!

Use them as a Tool. Knock out Tournaments are a great way to teach you aggression. And you get paid to do it Knocking other players out of the Game without getting knocked out yourself is not as easy as you may think. It's a skill in itself. Why not give it a try. Add a new dimension to your game.

As an example, in the one where you pay $3 + $0.30 to enter you would win $0.50 for each person that you knock out. So if you can knock 7 people out you have definitely made money, regardless of whether you finish in the top 9 or not. |

They are alright sometimes. You can get a bit of your money back or more with a bunch of KO's. But because of the way people tend to play them, you are better off playing without the KO's. Someone is always willing to chase to get the KO no matter if it is 50 cents or a few bucks.
